50902468-e98fg.jpgThe "gold" part, from these pictures is irrelevant as that has no connectivity and is plastic on most, the row of lines at the bottom are the connectors and they look like normal metal colour

I am not 100% confident, but I am sure you are wrong there are some cables that use shielded wiring as ground and they need the metal part. Correct me if I am wrong.

Can someone explain to me how can a cat7 cable be flat? There is no isolation no twisting, how are they good compared to properly made and interference protected cable? This is just marketing gimmick or I am way off? (edited)

I use flat cable through a closed window to my 5g router and work fine for 2+ yrs now

Do I get the same quality speed if I use this 20 meters away from the wall entry point?

I think that’s the whole point of these, if you connect Ethernet cable for internet you will get faster speeds wherever you are as long as the wire is connected.

If you don't need 20m long cable.
    I got mine from Poundland.
One for computer and one for android tv box.
    They are still working fine.

Flat cables are just terrible man. They always end up failing for no reason

I was looking at using flat Cat7 cable for home networking and running under the laminate floor which seemed ideal due to the low profile nature. Then a whole bunch of back-and-forth between 6, 6A and 8 because of non-standard Cat7 and the thinner gauge wires in flat cable.
Ultimately just went back to 6A for some confidence since I'd never wired network ports before and didn't want to retrace wires if it went wrong.
The price of Cat7 was definitely tempting though.

seem labelled to sell rather labelled to specs - label something apple and people will buy, label it Cat 8 or Cat 9 despite being Cat5 it will sell to these people

cat 8 needs shielding and thicker wires, cat 7 is odd being a business standard, but requires the same amount of insulation as cat 6
