Remember, gentle peeps, if you can get by on the ordinary 8-core Zen4, you can almost certainly get buy on the vastly cheaper 6-core 7600. But why save money, you ask?

Zen4 is obsolete, and currently showing restrictions in its design. Zen5, a massive improvement, and plug-in compatible with Zen4 motherboards, is racing toward us like a freight train. Money you save today is money you can put toward a much better AMD Zen CPU.

Will you miss the extra two cores in the <10 months til Zen5 arrives? Today an 8-core Zen4 costs way more than TWICE the 8-core Zen3. If it was going to keep any type of performance crown, then maybe. Instead Zen4 will look very sad when Zen5 hits.

Hi. Sorry if this is in the wrong section but I need a bit of advice. My son's pc currently has a Ryzen 7 5700 g. He want to upgrade that to a Ryzen 9 5900 X. Is it worth the £280, this is what he says it costs to upgrade. Thank you.

    Around about 260 on sale

It has 3d cache which means more frames and is the best gaming CPU without changing motherboard (edited)
