Enhanced in every way
Enjoy max capacity

Achieving the maximum SATA interface limit of 560/530 MB/s sequential speeds, 870 QVO features improved random speed and sustained performance compared to the previous 860 QVO. Intelligent TurboWrite accelerates write speeds and maintains long-term high performance with a larger variable buffer².

Enjoy max capacity
Reliable and sustainable

The 870 QVO is available in 1, 2, 4 and 8TB, and the 8TB model is by far the largest client SATA SSD. With the 870 QVO, users can now enjoy and thrive in the largest SSD computing environment ever³.

Reliable and sustainable
The groundbreaking capacity of the 870 QVO doubles its reliability up to 2,880 TBW compared to the previous model 860 QVO. This formidable SSD provides reliability with a refined ECC algorithm that enables a stable performance⁴.

Upgrade with ease

Upgrading to the 870 QVO is made easy for anyone with a desktop PC or laptop that supports a standard 2.5-inch SATA form factor. Enjoying this terabyte SSD is as convenient as plugging in the 870 QVO into a SATA slot and letting the renewed migration software take care of the rest.

Samsung Magician software
Make your drive work like magic. The new and improved Samsung Magician 6.1 software will keep your SSD in check. You can easily manage your drive with a wide range of useful tools to keep up with the latest updates, monitor the drive's health and status or even enhance its performance.

¹ 8TB is the largest Client SATA SSD as of its release date.

be aware that once the turbowrite slc cache is filled at around 78gb data written at once the write speed drops to 160mb/s, if writing large amount of files better go with an used enterprise grade drive i.e something like Micron 5200 ECO 7.68TB i've got used for similar price which will still outlast the samsung and write speed is consistent no matter how much data you write to it it will be over 500mb/s

No thanks -- most people aren't going to realistically consecutively write over 70GB non-stop, outside of transferring existing data from another drive. As far as buying used drives goes -- I'd never in a million years recommend it. Chia mining has been prevalent for a long time on these types of drives and SMART data can be wiped pretty easily. I'd rather try my luck buying SD cards from Wish before I buy used drives.

I'd recommend keeping an eye on it. Amazon keep dropping it down to match 3rd party sellers - I've got it in my basket and it's been going up and down between 298 & 316 for the last two days (sold by Amazon).

In order to get the Samsung 50 pounds offer, the seller must be Amazon UK, not Amazon EU?!

"Amazon.co.uk (sold by Amazon UK only, not Amazon EU)" on the Samsung site

In my cart, Amazon UK says:
    "Sold by: Amazon EU S.a.r.L."

As long as it just says 'sold by Amazon' with nothing after it, It will say Amazon EU S.a.r.l in the cart, but once completed you'll be able to download the invoice which actually says Amazon UK.

Was the same with the 870 Evo deal which I got a while back, had no issues getting the cashback. (edited)

Does anyone have the cashback link please?

Yes, it's QLC NAND (which people no I do not like) and performance in certain situations isn't great, but there are few options when it comes to 8TB SATA drives and the TLC variants will set you back a LOT more money.

I'd rather buy 2 x 4TB TLC drives for a little more, but if you need a single drive you either accept the negatives of this, or you spend a lot more money. (edited)

It's a SATA drive so I really don't see the disadvantages being much of an issue, it's really just bulk storage with a bit more kick than a spinning metal drive if for whatever reason you didn't want a 3.5"

Thankfully I've run out of places inside my PC to install new drives now.... I've got that many instead of C drive and D drive I've got Allen Barry Charlie Derick Erick Freddie Gerry And Hottie (yes that's the P stash)

My P stash is more exotic, hence the drives name is Xavier.

Does qvo stand for "quality varies often"? Samsung no longer the default king of reliability. (edited)

    quality virtually obsolete

Still 325, not going to go for these though guess you have to keep trying different times of the day to snag a bargain.
