What's the battery life like in actual use rather than the manufacturer claim of around 120 days?

Lots of variables I know but for most users how long would it last?

I used to have this model... I was getting approx 1 month from a single charge.
This model suffers from the glass lens falling out after about a year.

do you need to buy a storage base separately for the data?

I have had this model for just over a year now.. out of the two I own, one of them is a problem. Glass fell out (but I glued it back on. Problem solved!) The other issue is the battery now only lasts a few days.. If anyone has one for spares/repairs and it stills holds a charge, please let me know and I'm willing to take it off your hands Thank you!

In the news: QUOTE: "Anker admits its always-encrypted cameras weren’t always encrypted — and promises to do better."
The problem is that who makes it also makes cameras to control whole populations by abject fear in China. It is comulsory to have a social credit score - that does or does not allow you to buy a train or air ticket or send your kids to a good or bad school!
Encrypted or not the data goes via China. Other door bell camera people do the exact same.

If somebody in China wants to watch the neigbours cat taking a dump in my front garden they're more than welcome to the sight.

For a refurb this isn't good value considering a new one was this price on prime day.

where is the data stored? within the bell? how does the bell get attached to your door? what i mean is that someone could just rip this off the door and steal it?
    enclavemarine's avatar
I was about to ask this question, if it's the one where the bell can just be taken and any footage with it.
  9. Timothy_JohnUK's avatar
    Yes Anker makes these cameras.

Been thinking about one of these but wanted a fully wireless one so this could be ideal.

Hi. I asked on the wired ring doorbell thread, but this might be a lot easier to set up due to being wireless.

My elderly parents are a little anxious of the flat roof outside their room. Could I use this purely as a motion detector camera (no bell functionality needed) and put it on the outside of their room wall facing the flat roof? . I.e. would it alert them if there was someone walking towards their window on the flat roof? They live on a very safe street, so looking for a cheap option to allay their fears.

I've installed a loud window sensor on their window if anyone opens it, and I also tried a Philips Hue outdoor sensor, which was a huge mistake. I think a camera device with phone alerts on motion would really be the ideal situation to give them peace of mind.
    Jakhu91's avatar
Yes it would work for that purpose with motion detection would just need to be easily accessible to be taken down to charge. But as your putting it somewhere where there won't be many motion activations battery should last a long time.

Not sure why this is marked as refurb? Listing says brand new.

Was hoping for the 2k version.
My daughter bought the 2k version last week and the image and video quality is really good. The voice quality sounds not quite loud enough and slightly muffled to me but my old ears are not the best 😄

Me too waiting for the 2k version. Hopefully price will be reduced on Prime day.

Thanks OP. My mum's Eufy doorbell has started playing up. Indicates someone has pressed button when they haven't. Battery lasts about 2 months. But I normally charge it after one month. Sometimes misses people arriving or leaving. Video content very good, even though not 2k. Not had much luck with talking to visitors. Might be broadband at mums. Unit is 2 years old.

Just installed mine and it's working nicely. Stupid brain decided to buy a 256gb Micro SD card before reading that they only take a maximum of 128gb.

Just have to read up on the legalities of everthing now since I have one of "those" neighbours ..
