I've got Eufy outdoor cameras and since last week the doorbell too.

There are no ads, zero ads at all on the Eufy Security app that I use.
There is a clear statement on the website and other places from Eufy explaining that if you use thumbnail images on your alerts then there is some cloud storage. This is encrypted and images are deleted when they are not needed. You don't have to use the thumbnail images, you can use the local storage only.

There is some FUD being spread about Eufy / Anker kit, I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't Ring that originated it. Ring are not so innocent themselves, whilst asking for payment for it.

I've chucked all my Ring kit out in favour of Eufy and it's an all round improvement. (edited)

Oh the App is riddled with adverts at certain times - and this is coming from a Eufy fan

Newbie here, without a subscription can you still record video on these? If so where does it go, is it saved on an sd card on the camera or is it transmitted to the chime? Just wondered what would stop someone breaking the camera while they're breaking in if it's not cloud backed up, while they could still take the chime to remind the evidence it's another hurdle they might not take

You stick a micro SD card (make sure you get a dashcam type one) in the chime and it records to there. The app then plays the video from there

Can anyone recommend a no drill mount for this

Does this have the local storage already or do you buy that seperate ?

It comes with a 16gb microSD card in the chime

We've had a EUFY doorbell for 1.5 years now. It's REALLY unpredictable. In recent weeks, it's resorted to having a juddering live stream...where audio is garbled, and video is something like 5 frames per second. Not always, but enough for us to not be able to rely on it.

The in app adverts are also REALLY aggravating, as is the unpredictability of the stream (and the frequent difficult to actually go back through the timeline of footage).

If there's a more reliable camera out there, definitely go for that.

Home wifi has a huge bearing on streaming and response. Chime should be as close as possible to Router. A good wifi signal imperative.

I’ve got a few Eufy cameras and I’m moving away from them. The app is awful and bombards you with ads wherever they have a sale. On top of that they outright lied about being local storage only. I’ve actually invested in two ring cameras since then as at least I know what I’m getting with them.

Used the app for 2 years and never seen a single ad. Local storage works perfect too. Strange.

Escape the ring subscription. Great deal almost the cost of 1 year ring subscription. 🔥

As good as Ring but free to use

If thinking about getting a Ring doorbell, get this instead.

    Good price

I have the one with the dual camera and its pretty decent but the field of view is nowhere close to being as wide as the ring camera and the sound quality is pretty bad but with no subscription, i can live with its flaws.

I have had 2 and one of them recently failed, just out of warranty.
Eufy just offered me 30% of the purchase of a new one.

I had the same, failure just after warranty and refused to buy a discounted product to go through possible failure again

52274519-k1UvD.jpg£40 difference for the 2k version.

Dying to change my Ring doorbell, as want to get a replacement which I can connect to my current NVR (via IP address).

Did have my eye on the EZVIZ DB2 2K (as Amazon were offering 10% *grey* and 15% *white* off vouchers yesterday), but looks kinda clunky, so didn't purchase in the end.

Recommendations? As I have been checking that Megathread a few times a week.

Got a Eufycam 2c - using with three cameras but regularly missing movement on all three over last few months. Despite making adjustments, resetting and re-pairing as advised no improvement. Disappointing because worked well initially. Pity Eufy can't solve this as it seems to be a common problem according to online complaints.

    how much are additional chimes?

Can I ask if someone comes to the door while I am out at work and for some reason I don’t hear it through the app can I rewind on the app to see who it was?
    chiccosanchez's avatar
    Yes

Just had this delivered yesterday. Nice bit of kit and the included SD card for local storage is a nice touch. However, I purchased for £10 more than this deal. Does anyone know the return policy for Amazon when already installed? Thanks in advance. (edited)
    Professor_Chaos's avatar
just return it and order it at the lower price.

Can I connect this to my homebub instead of using the chime?
