Showing as £315 for me. I'm a prime member and don't see any vouchers etc.. :/

Bought one. Nearly bought yesterday as Samsung promo running out but thought they'd do this. Saved piddling about with cashback.
I notice a load of the 'deals' are basically what they were very recently.

Now let's see if there's any decent 4TB NVME deals to come...

    Purchased, thanks OP

BTW the crucial (P3plus m.2 4tb) series seems to be a real let down for me, after the initial burst speed, the write speed goes down to 90mb, so stick to TLC drives or this one which is qlc but at least has a sustain of 160Mb/s after the cache is used.

You're not wrong about the dodgy performance on that P3 Plus. I'm just happy that I can retire my last HDD and not have to wait whilst windows freezes and the platter spins up.

    Shame it's not an nvme

hmm... bought 4x 4TB Evo 870 for 114 each in the last sale...

haven't installed them yet... was going to do RAID1 for data redundancy

    wouldn't mind 2x 8TB QVO 870 instead (RAID1)

Any drawbacks or reasons I shouldn't?

Were 4TB EVO really £114 at some point?! The best I’ve seen is the £172 they’re at now.
EDIT: I misremembered the cashback amount! (edited)

    Stonking price.

Honestly surprised that it’s dropped that low given that the competition is nowhere near.

No worries about this being QLC and only 3 year warranty?
    rufioh's avatar
I want them for media storage, so the write speed isn’t a concern. Also for backup where it’s more of a concern but the capacity still outweighs that.
Not worried about TBW due to the use case, and fingers crossed I don’t have any other issues.

I would never want to use a QLC drive as a system drive of course.

Could anyone recommend a good USB C enclosure for this for my Mac, please?

    Heat, btw!

I have a Ugreen USB 3.1 gen 2 enclosure (the one with a little orange tag) which is fine, currently £13.59 on Amazon.

[EDIT: the Sabrent adapters I’ve been sent do not work with USB 3.1 gen 2 ports (not just that they’re gen 1 speeds, they flat out don’t work with newer ports)! - it seems there is an updated model in blue packaging, and the ones I have in white packaging are the problem. I’m seeing if I can get replacements from Sabrent, as obvs I can’t just buy more of the duff stock from Amazon).
Then with today's purchase I've bought a couple of the Sabrent 3.1 gen 2 SATA adapters (ie there's no case), currently £12.74 on Amazon.
I'd link you to them, but I don't understand what I am or am not allowed to link to on here :/ (edited)

Great drives, own a couple, paid £550 for the first one via Samsung EPP when they first came out and bought the second from Amazon EU when they were £320. Mine run as external drives in a Dockcase enclosure as it supported UASP and TRIM although I know you can get much cheaper enclosures such as Sabrent/Startech which also have similar support
    bindadesi's avatar
how long have you had them and have you had any issues?
