Xiaomi 33w Turbo Charge - Advice Needed

Hello,

I just needed some advice about Xiaomi Turbo Charge if someone could perhaps help?

- I have two 33w Xiaomi Chargers (images in first post below).

• Poco X3 NFC
Turbo charges with both chargers

• Poco M5s
Only turbo charges with one of the chargers (fast charges with the other)

The Poco M5s is my friend's and the chargers are mine. I need to buy her a charger that will definitely turbo charge her phone but don't know what I should look for considering her phone only turbo charges with one of my turbo charger chargers!

I would really appreciate some help because she's saying I should give her my charger

They appear to have the same model number so assuming that's meaningful I'd imagine the working one is probably a later revision that fixed an implementation error in the one that doesn't work.

The USB power market is a mess still, with power supply and phone makers often giving insufficient information about which protocols and features they support to be certain what's compatible.

A quick check shows Xiaomi/Poco list no details at all about what their products support on their website so unless a third party has tested it or they're willing to answer questions then it's going to be a gamble whatever you buy - as you've discovered even power supplies with identical models aren't guaranteed to work.

Best to give her the known working model and buy yourself a replacement.

Thank you. Really appreciate the help.

Yes I guess that would make better sense.

Doesn't turbo charge the Poco M5s but turbo charges my Poco X3 NFC and my husband's Redmi Note 10 Pro

What I'm finding with these chargers is if the wattage of the phone and charger don't match then there's an issue.

Not sure how it would work the other way though (higher wattage charger vs lower wattage phone).

Definitely something to look at though...

    Thank you

Possibly as silly question - 2 chargers, 1 cable? Or different cables?
