eSIM questions

WIth Apple going all esim, how would it work when travelling on a UK network esim, but need data when abroad? Would the 2 profiles work simultaneously (one for data and other for UK networked for regular calls/whatsapp use ) ?

DItto Android. A handset with a single sim slot but having using Lyca esim capability when travelling and buying esim for data purposes from many esim data providers . ie dual profiles working parallely.

Thanks for insights.

Can you use 2 eSIMs on Apple?

On Android, in use 1 eSIM + 1 physical would be the same as mobiles with dual SIM slots - you get separate icons for calls and texts (and can select which for data). (edited)

In a dual SIM phone although both Sims are active to receive calls and texts you choose one to be the default, but dual SIM phones don't have both data connections active at the same time.
You choose which SIM is used for data.

    Thats the norm.

But my question is, If i have a handset with ONE physical slim slot and one eSIM, AND I am using the eSim (eg Lyca mobile), how do I enable another eSim when buying data whilst travelling, which usally requires another esim profile to be active too ? ie not using the physical slim slot at all.

interesting to hear that apple is going e-sim. it is about time everybody does as having a plastic sim card is pretty ancient technology!
