What's a good 50" 4k television to buy these days?

I'm not really sure which television to buy these days, I want one with good features so it a bit more future proof.

I'd love some suggestions.

Samsung.com is a good place to get a tv.
They allow you to recycle an old tv
You can get 10% via buying a discount code on eBay.
    5 year warranty was included.

Usually a good time to buy around June, samsung have a bit of a clear out as they launch there new tvs and last years model can usually be had for pretty cheap.

    I paid £680 for a qn95a 55" with a soundbar.

No TV is future proof. Just like phones, the updates stop and it becomes a pain to watch anything.

Any LG C2 or C3 is a quality make. Great for gaming. We paid £800 for a 42", which is quite a lot, but the picture quality is amazing!

It depends on your max budget and if you want an oled or LCD. It also depends if you want next gen gaming features like hdmi 2.1 and 120hz plus refresh rates.

Budget is key here. Then LED vs OLED, there are lots of variations of LED.

How it the TV going to be used? Next gen gaming, netflix/prime (streaming), HD or a lot of SD material? (edited)

Hello, I'm looking for a tv to my bedroom. In living room I have already Philips 65 706/12 Oled so I don't need anything superb in my beedrom.

Max screen size 55. Do you have any suggestions what I can buy for around £300?
My only preference is Android/Google system on TV.

    Thanks,
    Raf

For that price your looking at basic budget models.

Is £300 the absolute maximum or can you stretch to more?

Do you want or need any particular features?

Are you aware of the different screen technologies and back lights?

Will you be looking directly at it?

Your not going to get next gen gaming features or mini led. So it will mostly be standard 50/60hz edge lit or direct lit LCD with some qled in the mix if you stretch a bit. Some will have IPS or VA panels. some will have a basic form of local dimming, but not full array.

Your also going to struggle to get vanilla android/ Google TV. Most of the budget sets have Roku or Amazon fire TV. The main brands have their own proprietary OS like LG webos, Philips own, Hisense Vida or similar.

    Have a look at

    Hisense A series,
TCL 6 series 630/638 in the p or C6x range.
Samsung crystal cu7100 is their best basic.

All of these are over 300 in the 329-400 range.

For 300 or less your basically looking at all the Vestel manufactured and rebadged brands of old like, Bush, Hitachi, JVC, Toshiba. Or a Sharp made sharp or Polaroid.
