Anyone recently had a driving test?

Passed 2nd time 4 Minors

1st failed for doing 27 in a 20 but the weather was horrible that day with rain like a tropical rainstorm. Again 4 minors 1 serious.

all I can say is thank the lord. as the backlog is still hoovering around 5-6 months for a test unless you get super lucky and get a cancellation

2nd time here as well... failed my first test due to the back wheel going 1ft into a bus lane, I even said back then the distance from the lane to swap over was to short, since my test they've actually extended it so you have more to move over

Don't go out and buy anything fancy or fast, buy something cheap and cheerful to get your bearings on the road.
I dread to see your insurance, young lad at works just got a little Seat Ibiza and paying over £3000 insurance

P.s drive safe, plenty idiots out there

You can get a nippy little car with cheap insurance if you know what cars go under the radar.
My sons insurance came back 2900 on a 1.2 Ibiza, 2600 on a 1.2 corsa both 80ish bhp.
Insurance was only 1500 on a Renault twingo sport 1.6 133 bhp and 1450 on a punto 1.4 multiair turbo 138 bhp.
Just avoid the cars all the other young drivers buy

congratulations, but I expect you wouldn’t need a car, what with being superman and all

like you, I failed my first, in chaotic rainy weather, which I still claim, my instructor set me up..

he chose to do my emergency stop, on a wet grid, and I skidded

Congrats I was second time pass first time wanted it so much the nerves kicked it but more chilled on second test passed with flying colours . I had a parallel park on second test and nailed it 👌

Yeah my 1st test was parallel park which wasn’t an issue. 2nd test reserve bay parking. nice on the pass

Well done on passing. 27 in a 20 zone with a rainstorm - gosh you were lucky there wasn't a camera!

I know, that’s true, I kinda thought it was a 30MPH zone as didn’t see any 20 signs or 20 zones painted on the road due to visibility

I remember doing my test in July 2012. I passed and i believe it was the hottest day of the year . I remember putting windows down when we got in and assessor said we will close windows and use air con(lol) . Obviously worked and helped me stay cool during test8)

I passed mine first time, 5 minors and then a month later I ploughed into the back of a BMW because I was distracted, the BMW had stopped suddenly at a roundabout and I didn't anticipate it etc. He wasn't having a good day as he had been robbed the night before!

They do say that first time passers are more likely to have an accident and I'm part of that statistic!

Anyway congratulations! My advice is anticipate as much as you can. Every other driver really is an idiot and it's not just every driver these days. You've got to anticipate cyclists, scooters and mobile zombies ( those glued to phones whilst crossing roads! ).

I passed first time decades ago and have never had an accident. Both my parents, sister and my sons also passed first time and none of them have/has ever had an accident so that blows that theory out of the window!
