Qatar economy baggage question

due to fly back to UK using Qatar.
I haveI'm 1x25kg baggage allowance.
I went with 15kg in our small lugage, can i purchase a second small luggage and return home as long as the two combined weight stays below 25kg?

I just flew with them and they operate a weight concept policy as opposed to a piece concept (except US and Africa flights) which means you can have multiple pieces as long as it adds up to the max allowance, so you can even have more than 3 pieces as long as they add up to 25kg. (edited)

Look on their website or contact them surely!

We could say yes you can have two and when you get to check-in find you can't, or

we could say no you can't have two and when you get to check-in find you can.

    On the Qatar website....

For routes where the baggage allowance is displayed by weight (flying from/to destinations other than Africa & the Americas), there is no limit on the number of pieces that can be checked in as long as the weight allowance for the total number of pieces is not exceeded. However, limitations may apply based on aircraft carrying capacity.

So basically it depends where you're flying back from.

usually these airlines offer 1 bag of 25kg, that you can not split in 2. please double check.

I would call them and make sure you get the name and note down the time of the call.

I travelled with Etihad earlier this year, had a total allowance of 2x 30kg for me and the wife. I called them twice and both times I got 2 different answers, first being no, it’s 2 pieces at 30kg each, 2nd call I was total I could split it between 3 bags totalling 60kg.

Went to airport and the check in guy queried why I had 3 bags but then he proceeded with checking us in. In the next counter there were riots going on as the check in clerk flat refused to allow the people to check in with more than 1 bag each!
