Home window reflective sheets

Hello oh wise and great ones.

Ive had a search and cant find any chat about this.

Has anyone got now or previously experienced putting the reflective plastic sheeting on home windows?

Im thinking along the lines of a mirrored finish from the outside but still able to see through from inside, ideally this will add privacy during the day time.

I have found lots of various products through some google searching but reviews are far and wide apart, mostly ok finishes but is there a good product out there that anyone would recommend?
The prices seem to shoot up swiftly when you go through sizes available to find something big enough for larger windows.

Any help anyone can give would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks.

I’ve used Purlfrost products on a few windows around my home. Fairly expensive compared to eBay sellers, but much better quality.
Personally I rate the static cling over the sticky stuff. Much easier and neater to apply.

Good to know thank you, i did see some options on static cling or adhesive.

I have looked at purlfrost and you are correct about the cost. It seems expensive really for what it is. I dont want frosted or patterned so not sure i can justify the overall cost for all the windows but maybe its the product to use for the living room and patio doors.

We have used the Window Film Company several times (holiday lets), not necessarily the cheapest, but superb stuff. Use a sprayer (£1 type from Tesco) and mix Fairy liquid with water and spray over the clean window to apply the film.

I bought 3-4 different cheap brands from Amazon and was happy with them all. It'd be worth trying a smaller cheap one and see if it does what you want, and to get the hang of putting it up - my first 2 were a bit rough, but I learnt from my mistakes

The mirror finish really does work, and the UV blocking is surprisingly good.

I have used the mirror file from this firm on a couple of mancaves.
Excellent film properties easy to apply its great it stops the heat coming in through the glass on a hot sunny day.

Thanks for all the fantastic feedback. Not too fussed about the fitting it.

Tin fit seems like its between the prices.
The really cheap stuff ive seen online has some iffy reviews.
