Amazon S&S oddity - first time seeing it

Been using Subscribe and save for years now with no issues on pricing, that is until now. On checking my upcoming order I noticed prices were much too high. Checked the order details - where the prices were correct. Note these are items purchased/placed in S&S over the last few weeks (I never let a S&S item stay until next time).

On 3 large items the prices are as follows

When I check the order the invoice shows the right price 1) £40 odds, 2) £29 odds and 3) £30 odds
The same items are showing on S&S pages as all over £50. Never can I remember there being a discrepancy between the purchased price and the price showing on the S&S page. Obviously I will be cancelling as I've no intention of paying silly prices.

Before anyone suggests the basic checks - are you sure etc - I'm a long term S&S user with a fairly solid knowledge of how it works.

Just to check - I added an item this morning and once the item was checked out - the price showing on S&S was higher again that the purchase price - this is very odd. Check your S&S page

Haha. Remember our conversation back in September where we had a debate over this and you were adamant.

Knew I wasn't going mad. Seems it's finally reached you also.

I’ve cancelled all my S&S. Lots of things continually weren’t in stock and prices of others increased up to 75%. Defeats the point! Without enough eligible items the savings aren’t really worth it.

Mine have started showing the original price, but when you actually go in it , it's the lower discounted price , but really annoying not knowing what you are paying unless you actually go into your order details

Been like that for a couple months now.

Not sure if they plan on doing the same as supermarkets and charge one price when order is placed but then charge more if the price has gone up (never charge less when something goes on offer)

I though it locked in first price when you order then few days before sent

For many many years now (and thousands of items) the price you pay is the price you take when subscribing. It has never changed on me - till now. Of course the price changes all the time for future orders if you do not delete the subscription once delivered, but I've always deleted it to keep it simple.

Seen this over the last couple of months. Seems to show the non s&s price. Orders received have been charged at the s&s price though (per the 'your orders' list), to date at least

Couldn't take the risk as I'm talking over £55 difference with 3 products. Too big and weighty to return etc if it went wrong

Same here , cancelled all S&S Literally not worth it

My S&S delivery is the same, shows an inflated price on my 'deliveries' page but when the items are delivered the difference, on the 'order page' is subtracted and labeled as 'promotion applied'

It seems to be a change in approach then - based on consistent replies above. I'm cancelling mine as I don't feel comfortable with the price shown on the S&S page (despite the order showing correct prices). I may return to it when more people confirm that they are not getting charged the price shown on the S&S, but in fact getting the order price

Agh, A&S is so convenient. But I have always felt it is open to Amazon massively abuse their dominance in the market. I order so much from Amazon, and always just assume I am being charged correctly. Although I order a lot from S&S, I think I will cancel, always felt uncomfortable with it.

A bit of an update - I think what some has said above is clearly what is happening now. No need to cancel S&S's. I put a few more in mine today and the price showing on the S&S page is the full price. The order price is the correct price and I'm sure that is what will be charged. Don't panic at the higher price shown on your S&S page - this is not what will be charged. They used to show the price after the S&S discounts and coupons - now it looks like they show the price before all discounts.

Just a change to get used to. Order page/invoice shows the corrrect price and the one they will take from
