There's a CEX Reddit which is filled with shop staff members answering questions like this. Worth a look, you might already find the answer.

They are more stricter now. Suggest you go In different shifts and hopefully catch someone different even today and tomorrow is good.

I sold 3 mobile phones to CEX last week, all same model. got full cash value. No discounted bulk rate for me.

Maybe cause they wanted said device or be low of stock of it

It's at the stores discretion. Even 2 of the same item could attrack a bulk discount application.

I only ask as I had 3 vanguard tho months back 2 on ps4 and 1 on xbox and they didn't bulk buy me then .. as found items to make £60 extra each I can sell

My local store accepts 2 at a time without any bulk discount application. I have spread some items over a few weekends without any problems to get around this limit.

Just walk in do the transaction, walk out, then walk in again and do the other. They can't even say anything as its two different transactions and you even left the store.

is there a reason that they restrict bulk sale? is it to prevent people using them for stolen goods or fake goods?

    1) If there's a source of items available for less than CeX buy them in for they don't want to saturate their stock with them as it's harder to sell the stock on themselves, and will potentially affect the value too. This bulk discount allows them the chance to slow the rate of purchase and keep prices under constant review.
    2) They are designed to be a general retail business dealing with consumers rather than businesses. They don't want to be dealing with traders or businesses who have 100 PCs that have just been ripped out of a school/office for example. As well as the reasons given in part 1, this would hugely impact general customers instore at the same time wanting to buy and sell their individual products. They are equipped for small quantities, not bulk buys.
