Complete Savings

Yes, another thread on this. Some of the others are year old since last post.

I finally got an invite after making a purchase at Argos. So I’m in line for the welcome bonus and 30 days free.

My question is about the monthly bonus. It seems those of you on legacy agreements are better off.
So in at least one calendar month I need to make a qualifying purchase from Argos.

That’s unlikely to be useful to me, even the YouChoose gift cards Argos sell aren’t much use to me.
So for those that are CS members and tied to Argos (or any other single retailer) to get monthly bonus, WHAT DO YOU DO?

Do you just bite the bullet and use CS as you would TCB/Quidco and find that the increased cashback you get covers your monthly fee anyway?
Or do you buy gift cards etc?

How do you make it worthwhile?

    Just another tip.
Add your One4all gift card to airtime rewards to get additional cashback from them when purchasing from one of their retailers. Argos or Halfords for example.

I like to think I'm pretty good at making the most of complete savings and one4all but this is the only tip I have not thought to do.

    Bravo!

Some have mentioned before that they bought sim cards from Argos to qualify. First bit of advice for you is to make sure you use a "normal" email address that has possibly been used before, elsewhere. There is no end of issue if you don't, and customer service is a shambles.

Thank you. Can’t see why anybody would use a non-normal one… unless they’re playing the system for a welcome bonus each time.
Re SIM cards, so there’s no minimum purchase amount to qualify for bonus?

Has anyone used one4all swap lately and find you can no longer combine balances from multiple one4all gift cards?
I used to be able to combine the remaining balance of multiple gift cards and swap those for one gift card, but I can't seem to see a way to add another one4all gift card to swap.

    Another tip from me.
To use up any remaining balance in your One4all.
    Ensure balance is above £15
Then purchase an Amazon gift card from WHSmiths.
It can be any amount from £15-£200

Order a £1 Sim Card and then don’t collect you will get your bonus you just need to email the order email

Thanks, just read T&Cs, there is no minimum order.
Not collecting it will mean I get a refund right? So effectively a cancelled order.
Does CS not work like TCB where they make you wait, usually at least the 30 days that is the returns period for the retailer, before making it confirmed?

I am stuck with Argos too I tend to buy a youchoose gift card online or a Sainsbury’s gift card instore, works despite the home delivery stipulations in the t&c. It cost me nothing as I use a One4all to pay for it that has been bought through them for the 20% discount . Online is better as it tracks an extra 10% cashback, while it’s only 2% that can be claimed on the instore purchase, but I try to keep a low profile with Argos. They blocked me from using One4all as payment about a year ago so had to open a new account with them and I am reliant on that glitch.

Use the one4all at Halfords, alongside any of their discount schemes, and it really helps with the prices

I joined through Ebay instead. Since Ebay sells most things you can either buy a few pence sim or just buy some random cheap item you might need at the time.

I buy the cheapest item and then don't collect. Had no issues for the past 20+ months. The suckers once gave me two lots of monthly bonus for whatever reason. Complete Savings is insanely good. I sometimes wonder how they even make money.

Well, my uncollected £1 sim has tracked and my Monthly bonus has a green tick against it. Surprised I didn’t receive an email to confirm it is being paid out.

On my account I can spend at any retailer for the monthly bonus - usually get 20p SIM cards off ebay

Presumably you’re on a legacy agreement.

The best & cheapest way to get invited is to buy a cheap child ticket on Trainline. Lichfield to Lichfield Garden City is 55p + fees on the website. After the first purchase, switch to the app.

Not just legacy joiners, I joined two weeks ago via mobiles.co.uk and can make a purchase from any retailer.

I am wondering if discussions like these are giving ideas to Complete Savings on what loopholes to close.

Well hopefully they'll put the same enthusiasm into sorting out their cock ups and failures
