I have Autogreens on my Mondeo . Before these i had similar priced Mazzini tyres and they had much better grip and were quieter - but only lasted under 10k miles.
These autogreen are noisier and have noticeably less grip in the wet , but are lasting much longer ( i have done 14k so far and estimate i will get about 20k out of them ) . MPG is about 2-3 mpg less than with the Mazzini too ( was getting aroung 48 mpg in winter on mazzini , now only averaging around 45 mpg on Autogreens)

When they need changing i will get the mazzini's again , even though they don't last anywhere near as long.
It shows the EU tyre rating are not to be believed - both tyres were rated B for wet grip , but the mazzini had significantly more grip in the wet .

The reason they last longer is because the compound is rubbish and too hard and why grip is rubbish.
I don't see the sense in buying cheap tyres that last half as long as a decent tyre.

Buy some Goodyear EfficientGrip Performance 2's and they'll last twice as long and are also a great performer.
You will get more initial tread and that tread will last due to the superior compound that is used.

    I have these all round.
Just to point out how long they last. My previous MOT 4 months ago, the rears were an advisory for approaching the legal limit. About 2.5mm.
I had the same tyres on the MOT the year before and got the same advisory!
4 months later and they are still above the legal limit.

That's 14 months of tyre wear. I've had the tyres on for nearly 3 years and I do 100 miles a day. (edited)

I'd caution anyone buying these. I believe these are "hedge-finders". First wet corner and you'll find a hedge instantly.

Considering tyres are the car's only point of contact with the road so are absolutely the limiting factor in any senses of grip, affecting acceleration, turning and braking, you definitely want the absolute best tyre money can buy.

And for those that say "well I only drive my little car to the shops", it doesn't matter what car you drive or where you drive it, the fact is that at some point someone else will do something silly and you'll have to avoid them, usually with emergency braking. Have a look at tyre reviews YouTube channel for the braking distances between the good and bad tyres. It's the difference between killing someone or avoiding an accident entirely. (edited)

I think the most important thing is to have enough tread on your tyres. These will stop as good as most other tyres with the same amount of tread.

I found Auto Green tyres to wear down very quickly ( under 10k to legal limit ) compared to Michelin Cross Climate ( 20k plus to legal limit ) (edited)

I’d agree with this, had them fitted to my father’s car and they’ve worn down fairly quickly. Decent budget tyre for the money though

Why oh why do people even consider cheaping out on the one and only thing stopping you from careering off the road or ploughing into the back of another vehicle?

Brakes and tyres are the 2 most important consumable parts of any vehicle.

Work out how much over the life of the tyres spending an extra £25 a tyre is and it's not a lot.

Buy the best tyre you can afford not the cheapest.

    Run Goodyear efficient grip 2 on my civic. Rolls on 205 55 16 91v. A, B rated

Wouldn't touch these personally. Good tyres are only a few quid more . Lay of maccis breakfasts for a week or two. Make the diffence before you know it.

You can only die once. (edited)

LOL - How many road fatalities do you think would have been avoided if the driver had had premium tyres instead of a cheaper make?? Possibly none.

Had these on a Mondeo. Did about 15k. Never any grip issues. Cheap Chinese tyres.

How odd the summarised comments suggest excellent tyres but when selecting the tyres it shows them as E for petrol efficiency and C for wet weather grip - doesn't seem to reflect the comments.

    Must be missing something ?
Fuel efficiency and grip are the two main factors for me.

Aside the lack of knowledge / experience for a reviewer, most tyre reviews are for the make/model of the tyre - irrespective of dimensions, so someone running them on a 15” rim could say they’re excellent.

If I’m not mistaken - the tyre ratings take into account the tyre sizing / speed etc. so often you can see a very different results across the same model, or a review at a A/B that then differs at the specification you require for your vehicle. (edited)

Ditchfinders.. premium tyres in this size are usually in similar price range
    tightpants's avatar
£40 for a premium tyre? Where?
  9. bobbitchin's avatar
Let's face it, you can't trust any reviews.

Every time I see these tyre deals they are never my size, so I check the size in the hope it might be a price even slightly similar and it’s always 100% more as a minimum. Anyone would think I have a monster truck rather than a Honda on 16s
    TomEames's avatar
What’s the difference between these and on your car? You can get away with altering certain sizes to an extent. These are also ditchfinders though

i got the all season tyres of autogreen and they doing great and grip as they should but if you a type that likes to rag a car or drive a high power then 90hp then do not buy them as you would moan

ive i had different tyres like toyo / autogreen / uniroyal and i didnt notice a difference in mpg at all

best tyres i had are good year and toyo but they not cheap but first time in my life i tried autogreen and they actually do the job i need them to do on a 95hp 1.4 207 without issue so i didnt see point using top brands when cheap do same for me anyway if i had a gti or something then yeah i would notice issues

also i stopped part worn tyres as they was worst then budget tyres i had good year 10yr old and uniroyal 4yr old part worn and everytime it was wet the car couldnt gain grip and nearly had a few crashes so i stopped buying part worn tyres and the side wall failed after 5 month with big cracks (edited)

Anyone have these and are they just plain old budget tyres.

I've had good experience with the Hilo Genesys range at ATS.
Got well over 35K out of my last front pair and no problems with grip in the wet.

Good to use up doing doughnuts and burnouts at the local retail park then save your premium tyres for back road racing.
