Booking a honeymoon in June/July, not sure where to go.

Hello,

I am looking to book a honeymoon, 14 nights-ish in June/July.

Slight issue is that I am not really sure where to go!

We are looking for a relaxed time, nice beaches and good food.

I thought about the Maldives, however I believe that's right in the middle of the rainy season. Other destinations, such as Sri Lanka and Mauritius look like it June might not be the best time of year to visit.

Bit stuck really, would be grateful if anyone has any suggestions?

Looking to spend about Β£3,000 per person.

Also, If anyone has recommendations for travel agents, that would be great also.

Thanks.

For our honeymoon we went to Africa and did an overland tour covering five or six countries. That's not your beach holiday but I'm mentioning as we were always glad we did it BC (Before Children). At some point we will return with them for a more sedate - and safe - safari, but now is the best time for you to have some risky adventures together as a couple.

It's a pity you have put a damper on Sri Lanka and Mauritius. They are the ones I'd have suggested.
For the budget you have mentioned, you could have a luxious holiday almost anywhere but Kerala comes to mind.

Antigua is fantastic for beaches and food! We did it in August and had about two 10 minute downpours the whole time we were there.

Yeah, that's a good suggestion. Can I ask, did you use a travel agent, or book independantly?

We did Thailand in July. Really great place to visit. We did 3 nights in Bangkok and then on to krabi for 7 nights.

The trouble with long haul is most are not desirable weather-wise in June/July. We have a house in Antigua and in the 20 odd years we've had it, we tend to avoid July. I would go early June, but not much later than mid June.

That said, have a look at Domes Noruz, they are luxury resorts mostly based in Greece. There are a couple of new resorts opening and they tend to have offers for opening. There are a couple of adult only and they really are quality, having won several travel awards again in 2023.

We went to the Bahamas for our honeymoon in July (2 weeks) Weather was excellent, loads to do, very friendly locals and great food. I'd recommend scuba diving!
