What's that stuff you spray on windows?

Can anyone tell me what the stuff you spray on windows to obscure the view through is called?

Or any recommendations as to what's good/not? Thanks

Depending on size, I'd recommend window film.... Goes on with a water spray and a squeegee (or a credit card etc)

Im guessing the op is wanting to stop people seeing in, the film i tried doesn't completely stop the view in and works by light reflecting off it, so when its darker it becomes more visible especially if theres a light inside (edited)

In the old days, people would use Windolene Cream (the lilac bottle, not the spray)!

Windowlene or diluted emulsion paint, also the greenhouse stuff - this for example gablesgardens.co.uk/det…1D/ (edited)

As others have said, it's windolene cream.

I bought some last year - Homebase had it on clearance for £3.50 but my local store was OOS but managed to pick up a bottle from Robert Dyas for £4.

Even though it wasn't purchased via a deal on here, in true HUKD fashion, it's still unused.

Thanks all I want a semi permanent solution so watering down a product like windowlene won't cut it. I appreciate it doesn't obscure completely when backlit.

Also thinking of leaving a circular aperture to mount a security cam, might be useful.
