Question about LEBARA

I took out a 20gb plan on 17th July this year for £1.99 pm for first 3 months which expires on 17th November and goes upto £7.99 pm

NOW the same plan is still available for £1.99 pm for first 3 months.

My question is can I cancel my present plan now so as to stop me having to pay £7.99 pm AND take out the SAME sim plan again which is still available through affiliate as exclusive plan?

I do not want to port the number and would be happy with a new sim card.

I am asking this genuine question because readers here are always asking about 6 months plans at favourable rates for the first months and this seems a way round.

Moreover one can have 4 sim plans on the same account with one email address.

For those in the know, is it possible to do what I am asking about?

Now I have tried this on the new revamped LEBARA website and it autofills my name/address details etc because I'm signed in but then haven't gone any further about completing the order.

Has anyone done this before to completion? Any help and thoughts would be appreciated. TIA.

Just one thing about preodering sims in bulk so to speak when the price is favourable (like your 1p sims, which alas no more). LEBARA has tightened up and sim cards have to be activated within 30 days after first payment has been taken.

10 days on the recent MSE deal

I did the exact same thing, didn't care about the number, had 2 Sims from them active at once. After 6 months I ordered 2 more and used those. I just unlinked the 2 old Sims, just to not get confused with the numbers on my account. The 2 new ones worked fine. Not sure if they've changed anything since though, like for 'New Customer Only' or anything.

After reading this I remembered I ordered a sim card in July I had not activated yet.
So I popped it in the phone and tried, it did not work so I contacted CS in chat and they confirmed that if the Sim is not activated now within 30 days the money paid initially would be refunded and contract cancelled.
Well my current promo ends 12th Nov, so it would be nice if a decent one comes along before then but it is not urgent if it does not as I have my 3 mobile contract, but I just have one of these in my phone as a backup in case I have a problem with 3.

It is nice to know that at least they will refund the money paid initially if the ordered sim card is not activated within the stipulated period.

The new revamped Lebara website is awful.
There are no details of usage and it states it can take 3 hours for it to show. I also got the same message yesterday. I'm on the 3 month £9.98 Unlimited Data Uswitch plan which ends next month, but it doesn't show the date it will end and also I can't find the option to turn off auto renew.
Has anyone else had issues with the new website.

Yes the revamped website is not the best! Use the LEBARA application for usage details etc which also gives the dates when allowances finish. LEBARA sends you email etc day before the plan expiry date. You can stop auto renew by calling or preferably Chat so you have proof.
Also revamped website is not good for placing new orders.

I have sim (0.49p per month) in my android car head unit for data on maps etc. I have just stopped paying and it cancels and then I've bought a replacement sim either just before or after and swapped it over with no problem. I also am running a sim 20months + for my phone which was on a 6 months deal now at £5.99 per month but if I do the same with that I cant port to Lebara with Lebara I'd have to leave and come back to keep the number. So the new customer deals usually MSE work for me even though Im existing and cancelled old sims. (edited)

The promotional initial prices are for new customers only AFAIK. So you may be able to get them more than once by creating new accounts

You are probably right but I started the discussion and asked the question to get thoughts and further information from good people like yourself. Yes, creating a new account and payment details seems to be straight forward to satisfy LEBARA system but I am loathed to do that if I can use the present account details but obviously I will cancel the present sim and order a new one on new email account if it means saving money. Surely LEBARA must be aware that people do this kind of thing. Thanks for your input (edited)

    Not sure on that.
I had a 6 month deal with them and then switched to Lyca mobile.
Will switch back in 6 months if deal is available.
Plus use a different bank and email.
I have multiple email accounts for this, plus several banks for the same reason.
I can also switch banks for cash incentives.

Good for you but I started this discussion because I don't need to switch, not wanting to keep the number and so on. Anyway I thank you for your input.

When the Lebara 6 months for 1p/month deal was on last year I ordered a few SIMs. I cancelled auto renew on one SIM after 6 payments of 1p had been taken and activated another for the next 6 months just before the first one died (like you, I didn't care about the number).

This is effectively the same as what you're asking except I already had the SIMs whereas you need to order them.

I'm not sure why you imagine this wouldn't be possible? I guess a new account (email address) would make sure of it if you run into problems with not being a new customer depending on the affiliate terms. (edited)

Thank you. Exact clarification I was looking for. And thank you all the more about about adding the last bit about "affiliate terms". I am thinking of going from Quidco Go Compare to TCB Go Compare although they probably land on the same affiliate and see what happens, although I am not bothered about £12 or £13 cashback

i had 4 lebara accounts with 4 different email addresses but the same payment card. all worked fine. same thing with lyca. people have said you could have up to 4 sim on one email account but i think that may be risky if they ever looked into it. also having different account for each sim, means you can remove your payment card when you stop auto renew on any of the sim. this is safer than having to leave the payment card details on your account. I’ve used tbat £1.99 deal 3x now without an issue

different email address and just turn off the auto renew if the £1.99 payment when you won’t need it again for rest of the 3 months

ive left it in use in the uk for a few days each time I’ve been abroad so they don’t just see eu roaming for free usage and never had an issue

Hi. I have the current 6 month £0.99p 6 month offer from Lebara. Only ONE sim. Brand new customer.

If I cancel after 6 months and start a new Lebara offer (if a good one is avail at that time) can I still use the same email address and same payment card and still be classed as a new customer (ie eligible for the new deal) ???

What Lebara classes as a “new” customer is quite confusing and their t&c’s are quite unhelpful.

    Any help appreciated. Thanks (edited)
