I have tested this few months ago and it is very inaccurate what it does and battery life is poor. Also, drains your phones battery like mad- tested on Samsung S23 Ultra and iPhone 12 Pro Max. But what would you expect for cheap ring. Oura ring is the best of the best I have tested.
£18.96 if you use Starling card and pay in US dollars. (edited)

Can you pay for goods in shops with this on the pay terminal? . I heard it's now possible nfc on a ring.. If so I'm in!!

You want to have a look at something like gotapster.com or cnick.co.uk

I've had a Tapster payment ring since the back end of last year, registered to my Curve card

It still never ceases to amaze people when I pay with my magic finger

Best bit of kit I've bought in years, no more messing about with cards, wallets, phones, smartwatches just put your knuckles on the terminal and you're done

If you get one my tip is to get one for your dominant hand it'll just feel more natural when you reach for the terminal

Beware, the Sensors on these are completely FAKE!
You can measure the HR/other data of air or a carrot with it.

Much like with the chinese smartwatches..same scam..It's just software that spits out random reasonable looking value.
They put in Fake green/red blinking light in them lol...

Basically beware of any watch/ring that doesn't has continious Measurement but a one-off that you have to press to fetch value . Also if it says it has Blood Pressure - Run away, all of them are fake!

    Check this:

    Rimi's avatar
The sensors on COLMI R02 are not fake, they do really work. And yes, I know this video and tested ring on carrot, parsnips etc. and it shows error and not measure anything. But the thing is they are cheapest ones and accuracy is very poor.

No this is a smart ring, like a smart watch but without a screen, all of the details are via the app. You can get NFC rings but they have to be done in conjunction with banks to work. This isn't that sadly.

For anyone curious, I've received mine now, and genuinely shocked how comparatively accurate it is, tested against different devices, and on other individuals. Apart from having to wear it on my little finger because of the size of my fingers, I am happy to recommend it.

*Sleep monitor, lol like it can tell you are sleeping from your finger. Most likely done from the heart rate.
    Bokstas's avatar
From heart rate and movements. That's how all smart watches do, including Apple and Samsung. I have this Colmi R02 ring for over a month now and actually I like it. Records precise time when fall asleep and wake up time. Other sleep data is not what I can be sure it is right or wrong. Heart rate measurements are not most accurate comparing with Apple watch, but are ok. It feels nice on the hand, battery lasts 4-5 days. I have spent £26 on it and it is really good for what it is at such price.

Well I don't wear rings but just tried to measure my ring size and its huge, well compared to their measurements, a #11 is even too small to fit, I wonder if the Chinese all have smaller rings. I only measured by wrapping a post it note around my finger then trying to put that in my mates but his was too tight, I guess I just need to find someone with a bigger ring and measure that, best to try my finger fully in it before ordering, it's no good being too tight as you have to keep taking it on and off to charge.

When shopping for wedding rings the lady in Beaverbrooks measured my finger, said it couldn’t possibly be that size and jammed one on my finger that was several sizes smaller.

Fortunately Beaverbrooks have a stash of butter in the back room for these situations

I must say i'm surprised at the eagerness for this kinda tech in this thread. Massive security risks, constant surveillance, total control really. Why stop at a ring and just get the chip implanted into your hand, the ultimate convenience!
    PAULTRD's avatar
It has no NFC and has no GPS. Why do you think this is a "massive security risk"?

No ring can do blood pressuer, even wrist meters can be problomatic. Some people are so naive.

Physically impossible to take it it that extremity.
    CtrlWipe's avatar
    > Physically impossible to take it it that extremity.

The concept of smart rings measuring blood pressure, much like with smartwatches, is not inherently against the laws of physics, but it does face substantial technical and practical challenges. The primary issue lies in the method required to accurately measure blood pressure without a traditional cuff, which is designed to momentarily stop and then measure blood flow.

Smart rings have even less surface area than watches for housing sensors, which could make integrating the necessary technology for accurate, cuffless blood pressure measurement more challenging. However, advancements in miniaturization and sensor technology could potentially allow for innovative approaches to blood pressure monitoring from smaller devices.

Several methods for cuffless blood pressure monitoring are being explored, such as:

    • Pulse Transit Time (PTT): This method estimates blood pressure by measuring the time it takes for the blood pressure pulse to travel between two arterial sites. The challenge in a ring would be accurately measuring this time over such a short distance and with limited sensor capabilities.
    • Optical Sensors: Advanced optical sensing technologies could potentially be used to estimate blood pressure by analyzing changes in blood flow or the behavior of blood vessels under the skin. However, the accuracy of these methods needs to meet clinical standards.
Smart rings could theoretically incorporate such technologies, but they would need to overcome challenges related to sensor accuracy, battery life, and the physical size limitations of the device. Furthermore, any device intended for medical-grade blood pressure monitoring must undergo rigorous testing and receive regulatory approval to ensure its accuracy and reliability.

As technology progresses, it's possible that we'll see more advanced health monitoring features in smaller wearable devices, including smart rings. However, as of April 2023, such capabilities were still in the research or development stage, and no commercially available smart ring offered reliable, cuffless blood pressure monitoring that met medical standards. The field of wearable health technology is rapidly evolving, so future innovations could potentially change this scenario.

Smart ring, so the wife can keep track of where you are and if you're still wearing it
    Rimi's avatar
This ring hasn't got gps so nobody will track you.
For people who are saying such a nonsense things I would advise just to buy it and test by themselves and if not liked, just bin it. It cost just 20 quid and that money easily goes in just one night at the pub. (edited)

Why some people are obsessed with monitoring everything that is going on in with their bodies is beyond me, these people get more stressed if a reading don’t look correct and stress so much it makes them ill

Anyone know the best spec health/fitness ring and if there’s one that does ecgs, I’ve been through all the garmins and fitbits but just get fed up having it on my wrist all the time.

The oura ring apparently does most of the things the likes of the Fitbit does, the problem is that is about £270, so I guess it comes down to budget Vs requirements.
  31. tomas_white's avatar
Why do they call it a "smart" ring? It's just a sensor with a ring shape. It only captures data.
    Big_Mr_P's avatar
Probably as my haribo jelly ring doesn’t capture any data therefore this one is smarter.

They are all the same in smart features on cheapo ones; all values they show is more a guess than real. Lots of steps are missed(even some 1820 steps magically appears through the sleep), heart rate hit and miss, SpO2 is complete guess as well as sleep tracking.
