Does this particular model have issues with excessive radiation or something?

Yes, I seem to remember it had to do with the 5G modem being poor in some respect, so they just amped up the transmission power. Presumably that's why the battery life isn't that good as well.

Price difference between grades is huge! I wonder what "Good" will look like...

I bought a few days ago a "Like New" for £319 from musigmagpie

I am running the iPhone 12 Pro still which I bought at release. Still a great phone but agree on the battery comments that is the worst bit. I’m currently down to 71% max battery capacity - I can just about scrape through a day most days. When I’m in the office and using hotspot etc I do need to do a charge from a battery bank on way home. And it helps since I changed cars and picked up Apple CarPlay and wireless charging, just to get a top up when I make trips.

Other than the battery it’s plenty fast, still getting updates, and features are great.

Why not spent £40 or so (more for apple official) and get the battery replaced?
I do wonder about people suffering along when batteries can be swapped out relatively easily.

Weak battery on 12 pro max is that?

Decided to go for this. I have a 5 1/2 year old Samsung S9 that no longer gets updates, so it is time to move on (plus the battery is now pretty rubbish).

Part of the decision to go for this, is that even though it is 3 years old it will get updates until 2027, so I can look to replace it in 2028, so if it last that long it will be a good purchase.

I also like the 21 day return with Giffgaff as I really like Samsungs and have been tempted by the s21 or s22. You can even get an S21 Ultra in excellent condition for under £300, but I hate how large it is.

The annoying thing is I forgot about cashback so will miss out on the £25. (edited)

I've been thinking about these refurbished iPhones very deeply for the past week. The conclusion I've reached is this: yes you're getting an older iPhone, but you're still getting an actual iPhone with full access to the Apple ecosystem of everything. You might not be getting the most powerful Apple CPU, GPU, or futuristic Apple WiFi 6 support, but you're still getting an iPhone.

I had to do some work on shortlisting mobile devices for best wifi. The models up from iPhone 11 have WIFI 6. Even the iPhone SE. So unless you are choosing an older version than that your WifI experience will be mostly as good as the current models (some exceptions) (edited)

Probably the best phone Apple has made. Nothing much changed since this.
Pro max would be a good shout.

    120hz? sensor stabilisation? cinematic mode?

Wish this was the NON max version.

    Good price.

    But too big for me.

Currently running 11 pro and after transferring from XR and FORCED to update to newer IOS at the time of transfer (Thanks Apple)

My 11 pro is laggy - and that’s on 16.6.1 also not iOS 17.xx.

Lesson learned: either setup as new iPhone and then sign in to get contacts and install all manually.

Or use imazing to transfer - not tested this yet - from SAME iOS to SAME IOS - or lower to higher - NOT higher to lower.

Would be thankful for any advice from anyone here with experience of this.

    Thank you community

    Let’s keep sharing.

    Cheeeeers.

Had nothing but issues with refurbished phones from giffgaff, to the point where they couldn’t have been testing them as claims. Many others experiencing the same so be cautious.

Agree, I will never buy from them again.

The 12 series has had a strange bug for ages, if the person you are speaking to sends you a texts it will drop the call. (edited)

Has anyone got a decent battery life from the good? I got my mum the mini from Giffgaff last year and was actually brand-new hundred percent battery.
