I keep reading about If you buy the base 8GB/128GB vanilla S24, you will end up with UFS 3.1 storage chips so folk have recommended getting the 256GB tier as a minimum so you can enjoy the faster UFS 4.0 storage....

Does anyone know if this is true?
    quake.ee's avatar
Gemini says both use 4.0 but Copilot is sure both use 3.1
    Update: apparently yes - 128gb version has ufs 3.1, 8-256, 12-256 and 12-512 use ufs 4.0 (edited)

I ordered the previous free buds pro deal, both showing in stock when order was placed, however on my confirmation email it claimed the buds were now out of stock and due 05/04, so instead of sending just the handset for now, they held the entire order. I contact customer services and just get fobbed off saying they couldn't do anything and all I could do was wait, they assured me there would be no issue with delivery.

The morning of 05/04 I get an email saying order is delayed due to unforseen circumstances and now due 13/04, again I contact customer services and just get fobbed off again, they claim the dates are only an estimate, so basically they are taking orders for stock that isn't ready to dispatch, I get annoyed and hang up.

Reluctantly, I decided to wait it out as it was only another week or so, however the morning of the 13/04 and another delay email, this time no new date specified, wtf. Angrily I contact customer services again which was an absolute waste of time, the idiot just said they have no new due date.

Now I'm unsure whether to just cancel and tell them to go do one, my only concern is that they won't reissue me the 10% birthday code I used.
    Sorry, rant over.

Same with me except mine is apparently with dpd but keeps being held due to unforeseen circumstances and needs to wait until conditions improve. Makes me wonder if it has been dispatched at all

You can get the same phone from carphone warehouse on a 24 month contract with ID on three's network, 500gb data unlim mins and texts 29.99 a month with the free tablet too total cost £719.76, there is no samsung trade in included with this but 500gb data contract alone is probably 15-20 a month alone so Id say this may work out a better deal if you currently not in contract anywhere else, annual increases may occur** carphonewarehouse.com/sam…223

Various discount possible also avilable - £20/40 voucher carphonewarehouse.com/key…nts
    possible £45 top cashback.

Or.... Buy this deal and not have to put up with three and own your device outright from the get go.

You can't just trade any phone in though. With Pixel, for example, it has to be a 6 pro or 7 pro.
    thorlc02's avatar
Of course you can, there is an option for "other"

If anyone wants to do this you can use a site called discountsforteachers.  Has the same discount for Samsung and doesn’t ask for anything when you sign up.
    Brunt87's avatar
It asks for a work email address or proof that you're eligable...

    Is this snapdragon or exynos?

Exynos. But is fine and not crap like previous years

Great deal, thinking about doing it but don't love the hassle of selling the tablet on
    kappachin0's avatar
But at £580 without selling the tablet, the phone is still selling lower than retail

Not bad OP, one of the finest deals we've had recently

Is this much of an upgrade on a S20FE. Battery on S24 is only 3880mAh isn't it? I'm sure rest of phone spec has newer technologies but the battery seems a bit small to me.
    Brunt87's avatar
    4000mAh capacity. 3880mAh rated capacity
  12. laughingman's avatar
I am tempted but a 4000mah battery is nothing these days.

It's enough for *most* people to get at least a day. I limit the charge to 80% and generally find that's enough to last about 24 hours with around 4 (possibly even 5) hours SOT if draining to 0%.

When you look at the trade after it says any broken phone, it say it must power on and hold charge, even after you say that is broken and not in good condition - so that suggests you can't use any broken phone? I have an old Galaxy S8 with a broken screen that you can't see anything on when you switch it on. The screen is broken and unreadable and the cost to replace was too high, so it went in a draw. I'm guessing I can't trade this in?
    pedro.santos's avatar
I know… but I think that’s just a default writing for all trade-ins. If you look at previous comments there’s a link for the written terms for trade-in, which says that criteria doesn’t apply to broken devices.
Honestly doesn’t make much sense… maybe write them an email and confirm.

How can you get the birthday discount code?
Haven't had mine come through and it's in 2 weeks...

Does it work if you order via EPP/Blue light etc?

I had an absolutely horrific experience with Samsung customer service when I wanted to trade in my device. It took me 1 month and 10+ emails until it worked. I will never buy Samsung again.
    laughingman's avatar
It's still better than Xiaomi customer service, they insist that condensation issues which cause fog on the mi 13,13 pro, 14 and 14 pro to be normal and not a serious issue.

Anyone knows if there are any conditions to be met for trading in a broken phone?
    quake.ee's avatar
Has to turn on. Some say has to be a smartphone some say doesn't.

how we getting this deal if we're an NHS worker? link just takes me to the Samsung student portal.

Open through the link on Blue Light Card

What was the issue? I've traded in countless phones with them and never once had any problems. As long as you're upfront about what you are trading in and provide the correct imei info then I'm not sure what there is to go wrong
    Gerhard_Mueller's avatar
The automated interface didn't work, so I had to contact customer support. They refused to accept my phone for trade in which was an "any other Android phone" under their T&C. They insisted that the phone needed to be named in their trade-in list. I sent them the relevant section of the T&C, they kept denying. It has cost me a lot of effort and nerves - never again. The trade in went smoothly once I was able to clear the obstacle called customer support. Just check trust pilot for Samsung.
