What is resqme?
Made in USA, this 2-in-1, safety and survival tool, allows you to cut a jammed seatbelt and to break a side window in your car.

Originally developed for first responders (firefighters EMTs, law enforcement agencies); resqme has become an essential safety solution for all safety-conscious drivers.

Main Features:
  • Made in USA - The Original!
  • Breaks car side windows.
  • Cuts jammed safety belts.
  • Compact, lightweight and powerful.
  • Materials: ABS plastic |Stainless Steel.
  • GS TUV Certified.

The resqme tool attaches to your keychain with a detachable clip. In the event of an emergency, pull the resqme tool away from the clip to reveal the blade. If the seatbelt is jammed, cut the belt by hooking the blade over and slicing it across.

To break the window, press the black head of the tool against the corner of the window and it will release the spring-loaded spike and shatter the glass. The resqme tool does not work on car windshields. It is effective only against tempered glass commonly used in side windows.

No use keeping it in the glove box if your seatbelt is stuck and you’re surrounded by airbags. Decide where you would secure it within reach before buying.

No use keeping it in the glove box if your seatbelt is stuck and you’re surrounded by airbags.

If the the seatbelt is locked up after the pretensioners have fired you'll probably be pretty well pinned to the seat too so you'll want to make sure you can reach it with your shoulders held to the seat.

Also, these don't work on laminated glass which is slowly starting to become more common on some front side windows now so double check that if you're buying. (edited)

    No they're not.

Can you post where you can find 5 Resqme for £7? And not some cheap garbage which flattens the hammer if it meets a window?

For all the ones posting cheap Chinese knockoffs - is a device you might need to save your life really the thing to skimp on? Plenty of videos online showing how ineffective these knockoffs are.

    Some people are dead cheap.

Chances are if you are sensible enough to buy one, you are way less likely to ever need one.

I have a safety hammer that supposedly does the same thing, though not in a neat little package like this. Having been in a pretty nasty crash years ago, all I'll say is - imagine you're upside down in your car hanging from your seatbelt, and place this device where you could reach it. So not the glovebox or even the pocket of your door where it could fall out. Some cars have little drawers at the front of the seat behind the driver's calves - that would be ideal. Maybe blu tac it or velcro it somewhere on the dash...

I've placed it in the elbow rest, as that should be easily accessible by both the driver and passenger and shouldn't open unintentionally. I have a safety hammer which includes a seat belt cutter, as there's not much point breaking the window if you're stuck in your seat.

Work great for getting those from the other team out of their cars. I'd wear gloves when using to avoid cuts or leaving DNA

Bought these as a pack of 2 last time for around £12-13 as an emergency item. Very small and compact and bright yellow so easy to spot.

Keep these somewhere so they are easily accessible in case you do need to grab them

I bought the 2 set for £15. Good price.

Hanging from my rear-view mirror, it's a good reminder after the recent accidents in Wales and England.

Though, if the windscreen breaks, it’ll be gone.

Did any of you pay extra for the accessories - on reading the instructions, it says this:-

'Please note that without support of key ring or the cable tie it can be a little difficult to remove the blade clip and can cause the resqme to break.'

The accessory pack seems to be around £12 and I was hoping to get 2 of these car tools. Has anybody got any suggestions as to what could be used instead of buying 2 of these accessory packs as well (to keep the cost down a bit, seeing 2 accessory packs plus 2 car tools would be me around £40)? Thank you.
