Asus TUF Gaming A15 Laptop - 15.6in FHD, GeForce RTX 3070, AMD Ryzen 7, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD

Display: 1920x1080p, 100% sRGB, 144Hz
CPU: Ryzen 7 6800H
GPU: Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070
16gb 4800MHz DDR5 RAM
512gb SSD
90Wh Battery

Seems like a very powerful laptop on par with the Lenovo LOQ 15IRH8 posted here the other day also from very.

To my understanding a 3070 laptop GPU is roughly equivalent to a 4060 laptop, so no gaming performance lost but a slightly better CPU and a MUCH bigger battery at 90Wh vs 60Wh of the Lenovo

Nice specs, but has been cheaper before (around £780). It’s likely Very may have that type of discount round again. But, still an okay price if you really need to buy it right now (edited)

I'll give heat just because this actually has 16GB Memory and not the usual 8GB you usually find with such gaming laptops around this price!

3070 is better than 4060ti (without DLSS)

Userbenchmark puts this laptop 3070 as equivalent to the laptop 4060 but a fair bit lower than a desktop 4060ti based on user testing

This arrived for me this morning and it’s a beast so far, plus with enough settings configured I’m looking at a battery life of about 10 hours with low brightness/ dGPU off

I got one recently too, yeah it's a beast!! Feels bullet proof too, I don't get why some reviewers have say it feels plasticky, it's totally fine IMO. Certainly doesn't feel cheap!

I bought it for DJing with and have it on a laptop arm and my only complaint is that all the ports bar 1 are on the left hand side of the laptop... I'm worried I'll catch one with my hand because their not noticeable in a dark room. Other than that, I can't fault it.

I just got rid of my 3070 ti QHD 16gb laptop that I got from very and built a 4070 super tower laptops will always struggle to keep up with desktops if they good for travel by all means but for home gaming desktops smash them to the ground.

Could you use this as a cheapskate [me] way to do a little video editing?
    originalli's avatar
Should be okay for full HD you may get some limitations with 4k but good starting point for sure
