Have to say the deal description doesn't sell this CPU considering the i5-12400F is £112.97 on Amazon UK. Anyway having said this, this would be an upgrade for someone on AM4 already who has a 2000 series AMD Ryzen. I wouldn't say 3600 to 5600 is a big enough upgrade but it is still an upgrade. Depends how much you can sell your 3600 to offset the cost of this.

I posted that deal too. AM4 has a decent upgrade path,ie, 5700x3d and 5800x3d and DDR4 ram is cheap. The Core i5 12400F on a DDR5 board can offer some advantages in the upgrade path but because of the power draw of the upper tier Intel chips choosing a board is more problematic. It's why I only post boards with a large heatsink for Intel CPUs.

The 5600G (with integrated graphics) is also £109 on amazon.

The 4600G is also available on Amazon for £80 but I don’t know how it compares?

I have this cpu, paid £120 last july, paired with a tiny palit stormx 4060 ti on an itx aorus b550 board. I think 4070 or under is a good match. Am4 has been one hell of a platform. Should keep me going for a good few years at 1080.

Any good for cpu intensive tasks like video rendering?

Also great for people wanting to build an mini-itx system as you can still buy a A520 mobo mini-itx for ~£110.

A 5600 + rx 7600(or 4060) would be a great solution for people wanting to play games in a small form factor build.

Any good deals on 7600 or 4060

These have really come down in price. 1.28 pound to Dollar really helps.

Read somewhere that if you have a b450/550 or better mb with PBO these processors perform as well as a 5600x.

Guys I've got a b350 plus board. Should I throw this in to replace 5 1600. Or just get a new mobo and maybe i5 12400F instead?
Helldivers 2 is sending my cpu to 80% and getting some frame drops when things get crazy. Thanks in advance for advice cos I'm not an expert.

Pointless going to intel imo, either get a 5800X3D to max out your current platform or go AM5 and get something budget like a 7500F/7600 which will allow you to upgrade to a 8800X3D when it launches which won't need a mobo/ram change with the 12400F which can only really go to a 14700K which is still slower than a 7800X3D

5600 will give you a nice boost in performance for the least money, 5800X3D is there if you want to max it out with an additional 20% performance, but if you've got a modest GPU you won't feel the upgrade as much
