sorted byIf it waterproofs the wood, then it has to create a complete & unbroken skin around the entirity of each and every piece of wood on the fence?
Imagine taking a big sponge cube, and wrapping it up in clingfilm. The entire thing should be waterproof, so no water can get in when your pour water on it. All sides are waterproofed.
But
If you make a small cut in the cling film, and pour water in. The water that is now inside, cannot escape easily - because the sides are waterproofed/cling-filmed.
I suspect water is finding itself into the wood pieces somehow, and cannot dry off easily. This rots the wood inside out.
I could be wrong - but this might be whats going on.
Secondly, if you were to still use this - I would powerwash the fences first. Leave it for two days in high heat summer so that the wood is exceptionally dry, then proceed to coat the wood during the evening when its cooler - so the paste doesn't dry-out, before it can deeply fill the pores.
I could be wrong.
I'm sticking to the yearly non waterproof coating.
Pays yet money and take yer choice ..but after using it many....I mean many times I won't buy it anymore (edited)
