    Don't cut a hole, open up, follow YouTube teardown video and reason it's loud is the fan builds dust wall infront of the heatsink. So it goes max rpm trying to cool it. Clean that and maybe change thermal paste too and it's quiet again.

    Sold my PS4 recently as been trying to kick the gaming habit. However continuing gloomy end of winter eves has me hankering for getting one back. Only thing is, which is the quiet model? PS4 slim? I hated the annoying fan noise.

    Mine sounded like a jet taking off, took it apart a couple of months ago and cleaned all the dust and applied new paste and it’s unbelievably silent now.

    The Xbox One X is to the PS4 Pro what the PS4 is to the standard Xbox One. I.e. the later Xbox One X is a far superior console to the PS4 Pro. I updated my original Xbox One to Xbox One X but I'm now thinking about upgrading my standard PS4 to a PS4 Pro especially as I do have a VR headset. I do game on the PS4 more than the Xbox One maybe a 60:40 ratio. Nowadays I'm more interested in PC gaming and emulation but the Playstation still gets good use. I won't be buying a PS5 until I can get one for around £150 and it has to be the disc version so I imagine that is still something like 4 years away. I only like buying games when they are cheap I don't need to have the latest games.

    11.02 probably. People in recent post all had same version so it looks like they do an update as part of testing

    I remember my gf getting a 250gb PS3 with a few games for £80 just as the PS4 came out, it was her first gaming device since the Game Gear back in the 90s... It ended up being an absolute gateway console, she games way more than me these days , pick up one of these cheap last gen consoles with an entire back catalogue of amazing games at your disposal (also mostly super cheap) at your own risk... you have been warned!

    My PS5 hasn't had much play time. If you can wait to upgrade, do so. You're genuinely not missing much.

    Not yet at least. I do have faith this gen will properly ramp up and kick in at some point.

    been looking at this and there are loads of games slated for late in the year and there is bound to be slippage so there will be games released. Although very likely no sony related ones which is i think what the announcement referred to. Most smaller devs are not going to ignore a player base of over 100m players world wide for a while yet
