But it does looks like a good price for dry conditions
Once you try a poly cotton tents, it's hard to consider buying other ones. So much better
Unless you are back packing (edited)
However, if you are inside the tent and it starts seriously chucking it down, do NOT touch the inside of the tent with any part of your body as this can create a leak point for water to start dripping in.
Pitch the Tent:
- Set up your tent in a dry area, ensuring it’s taut and secure.
Lightly Wet the Fabric:- Use a hose or a spray bottle to lightly dampen the tent fabric. You don’t need to soak it completely; just ensure it’s wet enough for the fibers to swell.
Allow It to Dry:- Let the tent air dry completely. This process allows the polycotton fibers to expand and close any gaps, enhancing the waterproofing.
Repeat if Necessary:- If you notice any areas that remain porous after the first seasoning, repeat the process.
(edited)Edit - TLDR
If you're buying a canvas tent, you should do a bit of research before taking it to a festival. It isn't a throwaway tent, it's a long term purchase
Arrived Friday and used it this weekend in Scotland cheers OP
1) Judging tents by their HH rating is an excellent way of demonstrating how little you know about tents.
2) Polycotton tents should come with a big disclaimer "If you don't know what polycotton is, don't buy this".
