Great price, ordered, thanks. I also purchased the plate and soup mug for £7.19 the pair, they'll only let you buy 1 set (?) but once I put it through I then ordered another that went through. Prime delivery tonight too.

Bought one and soup is cold after 2 hours

mum2016

Hi all, I have used the thermo cafe ones but they do not keep the food warm beyond 1 hr. But the other (£13.33) ones are really very good. I have now replaced thermostat cafe ones with these red ones. Have 3 at home and can vouch for the hot food. Not tried cold salad etc though but am sure would be good too.

foraminafera

Hot things hot and cold things cold - should do what it says on the tin. I regularly keep my liquid nitrogen in there along with a blazing log fire. ;0'

markgh

Thermocafé is the budget end of the Thermos line, those £6 ones won't perform as well as the King flask in this deal. I own one of these and it's great, microwave a bowl of stew in the morning, pour it in and it'll still be so hot at lunch time that you'll need to blow on it.

I have the Asda ones and have frozen them and microwaved them with no issues (albeit I've only being using them a couple of weeks)

eldaniel

I agree with Morty. However risk is there especially when heating up. Not when storing cold food. This is the first link I came across. health.harvard.edu/staying-healthy/microwaving-food-in-plastic-dangerous-or-not Whilst it is not definite, the risk is there. I rather go with safe approach and always transfer my food to ceramic bowls/plates. I only regret reading about it not so long ago. Feel guilty now for all the time I was microwaving baby food in plastic :(

Morenenth

i'll drink to that. cheers.

Saw them in shop Saturday (Newtownabbey). Container looks fine. 500ml vs the more common 470ml. The split lid with plastic spoon in it seems a bit gimmicky. Amazon reviews mostly good albeit inconsistent with some users saying it does keep food warm but most being happy with it. I didn't buy one but I am still tempted to grab one given that alternatives are at least double the price.

Heat added, finally a Tesco deal that is local to me

andywedge

Thank you for posting @8801 we have added this thread to the Highlights section :D

ghow007

I would agree with this IF steam wasn’t already coming out of the kettle. If it is, then the water has already reached boiling point and won’t get any hotter regardless of how long you keep holding the button down for! You’ll just continue getting more and more steam.

IgnatiusJ

If you pour the soup into the lid/cup then it should be easier for you to eat/drink.

They're both good and about equal value. Most people have a much higher chance of going to a Dunelm though. These are great to add to your shopping list if you're already going to Ikea though. A few other kitchen things I think are great from IKEA: 5 Piece Utensil Set https://www.ikea.com/gb/en/p/fullaendad-5-piece-kitchen-utensil-set-grey-80435942/ 3 Set of Scissors https://www.ikea.com/gb/en/p/trojka-scissors-set-of-3-multicolour-70337720/ 2 x Graters with Container https://www.ikea.com/gb/en/p/chosigt-grater-with-container-blue-50153180/ Apple Slicer https://www.ikea.com/gb/en/p/spritta-apple-slicer-green-90152999/ Bin with Lid (various sizes available and easy to clean) https://www.ikea.com/gb/en/p/filur-bin-with-lid-white-20193899/

Mr_Gus

great if you want to kick the habit of forever reboiling kettles, I use this to transfer water so no-one waits in the morning (& often a quick full flask reboil from the night before takes a minute or less. If you are a 3 mugs of tea person before leaving the house then this is for you. NB it's HOT for "up to" 12 hours not 6. ...& that relies on being full & unopened & pre-tempered, ..if you start taking water for tea from it then after 2 regular mugs & a couple of hours it will be coolish but good enough where no reboil is possible, otherwise will take 20 seconds to reboil if you have kettle nearby to bring the uppermost heat temps back ..fast & easy! ..basically we always have some hot water for a powercut (priceless).

spilmilk

Dont forget its "gerniune" haha.
