If you have a Q2 stick with it a bit longer and skip the Q3 is my not very popular advice. (edited)
oh, wow that looks awesome! how fiddly did you find implementation? (edited)

Does it come with free games available or do you have to buy everything individually?
Can you use this for watching apps like Apple TV+ and Netflix? Dare I say Sky go?
Very much one of those things I’ve added to basket with having a single clue what it does. (edited)
In terms of streaming, Netflix has a native app, not sure about the others, but it has a browser so should be able to play whatever you want through there. There's a free app called Skybox VR which is amazing and can put your own content on the device or link to a media server like Plex, and watch through there in a cinema setup (watched Dune the other week on there, it was amazing.)
If I don't have a playstation or xbox and I have a mobile and a fast PC (but don't play games) - is this of ANY USE to me?
I like the idea of a VR headset and I would love to do virtual-travel and things like that, but I have no idea how to even start???
My vision seems to blur a long, headset keeps moving so focus always seems off?
Is it just a case of a better strap? I do wear reading glasses but the graphics are in focus when I put it on, just seems to be the periphery or stuff off centre??
£5 off at the moment takes it to £24.99 KIWI design Head Strap Accessories Compatible with Quest 2, Elite Strap Replacement for Enhanced Support and Comfort in VR: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics & Photo (edited)
As for needing a PC, no most games are downloaded straight to the headset , so no pc needed.
But my partner bought this just before it hit £179.99 and it arrived on Saturday.
He loves it. He's been playing some demos and being a poker fan, has played live games with others - though he says some forget they have their mics on (you can switch your microphone off if you prefer). He had a guy 'snoring' at the poker table the other night. Some are particularly rude and have the radio on in the background !!!! or forget audio is on and talk away to whoever's in their house, or sit and hum or sing or cough like maniacs (he's finding all this a bit annoying, tbh).
For an over 18 / gambling situation (though he says cash games are different) he says all sorts of ages appear and sometimes create chaos - which makes me wonder if this will be rife with trolling or abusive situations. But there is a Report button.
Will have to ask him which sort of platform it is / what it's called.
What he really bought it for was the racing games. He was moaning a bit about it last night as he's just bought a driving rig for his Logitech G27, gear and pedals. He reckoned the visuals weren't that clear and not as hi-res as he was expecting (?).
So I'll mention the Game Optimizer suggestion mentioned by cookied (thanks) earlier on.
Using the Quest 2 itself or a PC? Without an external computer you're not going to get anything looking fancy, not even with a Quest 3 though it would be better.
If it is via PC then making the most of visuals is a fine art that depends on your specifications and settings. Driving and flying games are generally the most demanding things to run too.
The Quest 2 is a *lot* for your money but if you want to get fancy then broadly speaking you have to blow the dust off your wallet.
Thanks
I'm out of touch with these devices, ive got it now but I really need apps that are more exploring various things around the world (not games) for my elderly mother. I can't seem to filter the meta app, very frustrating. If someone can help me I'd really appreciate it
Such a laugh. Now investing in a better Headstrap and longer lead.
Boxing, Kung Fu I'm definitely gonna be breaking something, n the pron
Got to change the launcher and I can connect to my laptop too. For the price we paid they're well worth it.
Sat on a spaceship browsing the web is very amusing.
