Oculus Quest 2 VR Headset 64gb - £279.99 + £9.99 delivery (+ John Lewis Price Match) @ Game
Posted 21 h, 43 m agoPosted 21 h, 43 m ago
I have just found this headset for £279.99 at Game with free shipping. I decided to get John Lewis to price match (and they did) so I could buy the 2 years accidental damage with … Read more

Can anyone recommend a cable for this? Dont much fancy paying £90 for the official one

Game customer services is shocking. I gave up trying to get a 2 month old Nintendo switch replaced with them. Ended up sending it to Nintendo directly instead. Look at the game facebook page, its nothing but comments from people complaining about missing deliveries, missing returns / refunds etc ... Or just not being able to get a hold of them. Their phone lines are shutdown. Their stores cant help. No online chat Their support tickets are ignored (still waiting for a response from my 6 week old one). Customer Service email ... all dont give a monkeys ... If they reply.... you'll end up having the same conversation with 3 people, who tell you 3 different things. When you realise sports direct bought them out, then you realise why there so sheeite.

Is it worth it to upgrade from a quest 1 to a quest 2?

That's great. 😁 I thought I would change the heading of this post to reflect the £9.99 postage just in case. 😁

Yes I got mine from John Lewis to price match Game with no postage added just don't mention the postage and usually they will match.

Today’s Daily Deal is Coaster Combat, much better than the free roller caster game. The previous lowest sale price was £6.99, so today’s price is its lowest ever, I might even be… Read more

Epic Coaster feels more like the real thing, hence why it probably is more nausea inducing. It's a better title overall. Not much to either of them to make you come back for more.

Yes, I think the post Christmas rush for titles has dropped off, so hopefully we'll start to see more regular sales (y)

Ditto, nice position to be in- wasn't so long ago that you hardly ever saw a Quest game on sale

I know the feeling, I've even bought some games twice. I've gifted them to friends so we can play multiplayer games together XD

Ha! Man, tell me about it. I spent about £40 on games last week on the Quest... I’m going to be running out of games to buy soon! (lol)

Oculus Quest 2 - 256GB version - £379.99 with GAME Price Match @ John Lewis & Partners
Posted 22nd FebPosted 22nd Feb
Oculus Quest 2 256GB version for £379.99 courtesy of John Lewis. Few simple steps but worth it... GAME price is £379.99 anyway, which is cheaper than anywhere else at the moment,… Read more

For someone who is not so fussed about the "go anywhere" capability and would rather just have a dedicated PCVR option is this the best currently available at this price range or are there better options out there for visual fidelity etc?

Very often those who do have an issue with it use an Android or iOS phone which tracks their location and has Google Assistant or Siri that listens to their every word. Also, they have Google/Apple accounts, Microsoft Xbox/PSN accounts, Amazon accounts, use Netflix, Amazon Prime, Steam, Battlenet etc. Won't even mention all sorts of other services and companies/places that already have their details. Not defending this product and I do get it - this is a device with outward facing cameras, it's a gross invasion of privacy and you have to sign your soul away to play those games but if you don't like the idea of giving all that information to Facebook and you think this device is not for you then just don't buy it. It really is that simple.

Yeah I notice was just a simple question very annoying!

Anyone with IPD around 72mm here? Almost bought it a few weeks back but found out that IPD goes up to 68mm.

Thanks. I'll check which version hub my Dad has.

Oculus Quest 2 - 256 GB - £391.08 @ Amazon

OK - only £9 off, but if you were going to buy one anyway that's £9 towards your first game! Also, Amazon let you pay in 5 interest free monthly installments if you want to.

Is this better than PSVR. Will the better specs stop my PSVR motion sickness?

Seems like a high mark up over 64GB, but it's not uncommon for tech to upsell on storage. 64GB does sound limited when console games can reach over 100. Personally I wouldn't go for a facebook headset since I really do not trust them, but these seem affordable for what they are.

^^I did the frankemod with the vive deluxe strap and it worked, but the Q2 was no good for me as a gaming HMD as my IPD is above 66 and i lose a ton of FOV from the sides because the Q2 lenes actually go off the edges of the LCD panel the higher you are above that 64 IPD, but the frankenmod did work as a vast improvment to the default cloth strap, cost me £20 for the printed parts.

Not the cheapest it's been on sale for, but still a saving of £7 is not to sniffed at. This used to be the go to zombie game on the Quest, but has been overtaken by a few other ga… Read more

If you have access to PCVR and Virtual Desktop then buying AS on Quest is a massive no. It's a half decent zombie shooter, good fun with two people completing the main missions and DLC and then four for horde mode. 7/10

The Q2 version had some graphical updates last year.

Shame this isn't discounted further. Has it been improved upon much since its initial launch on the Vive years ago?

I havnt, I don’t turn my pc on often which is why I got the quest so I could vr without the hassle of the pc

Have you tried using Virtual Desktop to play it wirelessly from your PC? (You’ll need to get the free patch from SideQuest for virtual Desktop once it’s installed so you can play PCVR games wirelessly)

Thanks that was a great post (y)

Those are some excellent VR games. Pretty much exactly the same as my favourite Quest native games but you'd need to swap Synth Riders and Beat Saber around and add in a little bit off Racket NX goodness...

Top banana m8, many thanks. Am working all weekend so that will be my "side mission". Always fancied a ps4 VR purely for doom on it, but I've been xbox for many many years but loving the quest.

If you haven't already had a look, here is a link to my discussion which gives tips/help/advice for new Quest 2 owners... https://www.hotukdeals.com/discussions/my-top-picks-for-oculus-quest-some-rift-owners-from-the-current-sale-3632769 But if you have any other questions that aren't answered on there, give me shout (y)

A bit of both, you need to own the original PC game (costs less than £2 now), you have to Sideload the Doom3Quest app from SideQuest, then run it once, then transfer the main game files from your PC to your Doom3Quest folder on your Quest, then it plays as a standalone VR game (which is very scary), it's not perfect, but very good (y) (I recommend a change of underwear too) It's sounds complicated, but it didn't take me long to do last night, played the first 15-20 mins, great fun and scary. Link to Doom3Quest SideQuest page here: https://sidequestvr.com/app/2651/doom3quest And installation instructions here: https://www.doom3quest.com/ Enjoy (y)
