TURANZA T005

Bridgestone is continuing to reinvent the wheel when it comes to superior tyre technology, as seen with the critically acclaimed Turanza T005 tyre.

The Turanza T005 delivers outstanding wet performance and fuel economy - combined with high mileage - to give drivers full control in challenging daily situations, especially on rainy days.

To achieve Turanza’s high-level performance, Bridgestone engineers put together a premium wet package of materials and tread design. The dense siping in the blocks and void distribution in the centre section of the tread help to produce highly-efficient water drainage. Using new mixing technology, Bridgestone’s proprietary NanoPro-Tech™ polymer is mixed in the high-silica-content compound to help maximise wear, wet grip and fuel efficiency

Poor tyres. Noisy, wear too quickly, average grip, they do not inspire confidence in the corners. I am switching back to Michelin Primacy 4+

Incredibly poor tyres. Rock hard, horrible ride, noisy, poor traction. In the Summer, these feel like decent Summer tyres in the Winter. Wait until the Costco offers rotate back to Goodyear or Michelin. (edited)

I helped a friend get a set of these for her little Fiat 500 a year ago. Wore out very quickly with low use though. Not too happy about them at all.

A lot of negative opinion on this tyre but every comprehensive review rates this tyre excellent.

I'm starting to think you work for Bridgestone. I had Turanza T005 on my 2018 Polo GTI+ and they were downright dangerous, I had then on the car less than a month, once I realised they weren't going to improve after scrubbing in.

I don't think tyre reviewers are particularly impartial.

These get very sketchy once they've worn down a bit. Wouldn't recommend

Got these on our VW T-Roc albeit in 17”. Still only originals on the rear at 36k and just nearing tread markers. Gone through two sets on the front.

Not bad in terms of wear in my opinion

Two sets on the front? They aren’t lasting too long really. I have seen 14k and 12k on some OEM tyres on Audi ‘s but I switched to the Pirelli cinturato and west was much better. 29k out of the fronts. On an A3 the T005 didn’t last long and wore unevenly for some reason so they too got replaced but by the P7C2 the newer cinturato. It’s best to see what wears the best as every tyre and vehicle are different.

does anyone know the treadwear on this. is it low 300's or high 500's?

I still have one of these fitted to my spare wheel but it has no tread wear rating on it, tyre date 3221

I've just had 4 michelin crossclimate 2 fitted by Costco and noticed they done have treadwear rating on either! So not sure 🤷🏼

Which membership type do I need to have in order to purchase tyres as a non-tradesman?

Do Costco switch brands for tyre promos monthly?

Usually- they haven't done Goodyear for a while, and keep cycling between Michelin and Bridgestone - waiting for Goodyear to come back around as I'm keen to dump my Potenza 235/35 R19s.
  13. boostii's avatar
Why are you writing in the description that these are ultra high performance? Potenzas are the high performance tyre, these are a touring tyre optimised for comfort, efficiency and durability.
    monkeyhanger75's avatar
Potenza and Turanza are equal for performance - both awful, although the intent is that Potenzas are the sporty ones.

    Anything for 225/50 17

Very poor quality tyres, started to crack after a year of use

205 55 16 isn't a size you'd typically see in a performance car.. I switched to all season tyres for my daily years ago and never looked back. They're much better in lower temperatures that we get 10 months of the year, and not much worse than dedicated summer tyres in June and July. Great compromise for people that aren't obsessed with perfect apex on b roads. (edited)
