Is it actually normally £149.99 or over inflated? Any good & will it be cheap to run or expensive?
    Gj9382's avatar
Well it's 2kw so it will cost 50p per hour to run at the current cap.

Ordered mine about an hour ago and just had an update email from DPD so looks like we’re in business 💪🏼

Nice deal (I think). Ordered. Now I just have to work out where to install and how to get power to it. How unsafe would this be to be installed on a wooden fence?
    buckham_uk's avatar
Can’t see it being an issue so long as the wood isn’t rotten or you have it replaced before it does

I've got an aluminium frame pergola - it looks like this needs to be screwed in (and I don't think I should do that with my pergola!) Are there any recommendations on how best to attach it?

Dare you to use the “G” word?
  6. trickytree1984's avatar
Is the cable really only 1.9m?
    Spudjee's avatar
Lop plug off, inline ip68 connector onto some 1.5mm H07RN-F and you're laughing

Will this heat up a fairly big sized outdoor conservatory?
    KC30's avatar
It will heat a zone usually directly aimed at person. So u probably want a radiatior or fan heater for that job (edited)

These things are nonsense, heat the outdoors and kill the planet a little bit more.
  9. johnszi23's avatar
Can someone explain the need for this? You wish to be outside but it’s cold so you make yourself a bit of heat? Seriously? Just stay indoors…

It's a first world problem thing

Patio? Is this for heating the outdoors?
    neversay's avatar
Yes. You can turn up the climate to feel warm.
  14. Slick_uk's avatar
Or stick a jumper or rug over yourself for free

People using any form of heat outside should be fined and especially these restaurants/coffee shops that do the same. (edited)
    Gj9382's avatar
    Why
  16. lozfitz's avatar
What makes you think it is a price error? A similar one on Amazon is £40
    jez794's avatar
Defo not a price error, made me buy one without looking properly tho so worked lol, they've been this price before, good reviews tho

One you linked isn't as good and totally different aswell (edited)

1.9 metre cord why not 5 meters!

Because of regs it would need to be armoured cable for outdoor install

Personally, I prefer the ones on a "tripod" with a weighted base. As it is easier to move that relative to the table and chairs, than move the table and chairs. I don't know of any IP65 rated 2kW dimmer adapters.

The reason why it costs a lot is that "5" in the IP 65 rating - It's quite difficult to seal a heating element that expands and contracts and also gets very hot. A lot of electric Bathroom heaters don't have that rating. Indeed, mine are so lacking in seals that they live in the barn, most of the time. eg fastlec.co.uk/ir1…ord
It's only twenty five pounds or so - but only IP20.
    lilbeastie's avatar
that's only IP20 - but it's also only half the heat output too. Watt for watt this is pretty much the same price as yours.
  31. palli's avatar
Cheers, I've just ordered this. For 60p an hour to sit out on a night its money well spent.
    henry.ford's avatar
Well I'm going to tell Greta, she can sit out there with you. Tell you all about it.
  32. rrr99gp's avatar
These things are unsellable. They might have been this RRP in 2019 but since the crazy energy prices, these have flooded the market. Nobody is buying them.

Me and my hot tub feel personally attacked!

  35. Scandalicious's avatar
    Ordered. See what it’s like
  36. Grimslade's avatar
It's not a pricing error. It's usually this price direct from their website
    thunkpad's avatar
Not usually. Usually it's RRP, but it does periodically offer deep price cuts.
  37. ADAM_GARNER's avatar
