Game has vastly improved, this season has made the biggest changes in the game which was desperately needed, they finally listened. So this is the best time to get in.

They changed the core mechanics, but it really is lacking content. The world they built is rubbish and leveling feels lifeless (I'm only lvl 40 ISH) and I don't really understand what I am doing apart from just killing mobs that randomly spawn Infront of me.

Feels like I have no direction until I get up to max level and be ready for the pit.

The problem with Blizzard today is they aren't Blizzard, all the OGs are gone and so they're just making immitations, why none of their new games are good.

the D4 team really are trying, there is a lot of communication from them with regular live streams, they have even started showing up on other streams to discuss the game

they have made a huge change to the itemisation system and actually addressed pure pet builds for those of us into them (YAY!)

the current season of PoE is one of the worst ever, even the hardcore twitch streamers all quit after a week

the polar opposite of the previous season which was one of the best ever

saying that D4 was never aimed at PoE which is aimed at the 0.1% of top gamers, it takes 1000s of hours to learn the game lol D4 is aimed more at the middle ground of arpgs like D3 was (which was good at its peak) (edited)

Upto 20 , so am hour? I've played maybe 3 hours of the new season and I'm level 34

I did this last time Diablo had the trial to 20 on, and it was honestly pointless, you do not get any feel for the game or if you will enjoy it at all, considering the game does not start really till you hit tier 3/4

I did buy D4 and have played for about 40-50 hours, over 2 seasons, honestly i cannot recommend this game to anyone. i was lucky to have someone who i knew who just bought the game so we played through together. Honestly without a friend to play with i probably wouldn't have played it anywhere near as much.

The map is very stale and lacks depth, its all very samey...
you will spend all your time grinding to tier 3, so you can start to get a build together, then go to tier 4 to improve on that build.
Ends up becoming an endless dungeon grind, which is fine, but the combat is average for the classes, the dungeons are like the world map, they all look and feel very similar, lack personality and all the bosses on the game are extremely easy so no real challenge.

I saw another deal for baldurs gate on sale, if youve not played that and looking to throw money at a game i would highly recommend that first! D4 is honestly one of the only games in years ive regretted paying for, if i grabbed it for £10-£15 it would be fine but i payed £35 and does not feel worth that price point.
