not sure how much of a good deal this it but considering 4 bottles are 5£ in Tesco and 30 bottles are £35 on Beer Hawk. It seems to be the best price per bottle I can find online. (might be better deals instores idk)

How do you get the 9% stuff. My local pub used to have it but would only do half pints of it. We used pester them that much they used to give it us in pints. Lethal stuff. Can remember getting one of my mates to down three pints of the stuff. We had to send him home in a taxi. Found him when we got back home, passed out with a block of cheese on his stomach with a big bite out of it

Not quite, these work out at £3.03 per litre, the £2.50 you're quoting is £3.30 a litre. Good find Laszlo!

    6.6% holy s

Yeah, it's pretty weak for a Belgian beer.

Tesco have recently started selling 750ml bottles of Tripel Karmeliet (my favouritest beer in the whole wide world) for just a fiver. A beautiful Tripel. Wish they did 330ml bottles, however, as you know when you've had 750ml of an 8.5 percent beer!

The smoothest strong Belgian brew I've had is Deus at 12%. Brewed with champagne yeast, allegedly, which is why it costs north of 20 quid a bottle. Worth a try from time to time if you've got somebody to help you with it. Or not, if you're feeling greedy!

Nice price. As we are discussing Belgian beer, you all need to try Orval if you haven't already. It makes Leffe Blond taste like Carling.

It seems quite a few of us got the parcel damaged notification for some reason. I went onto the web chat and they agreed to replace the item at the original price instead of cancel the order which is good. Delivery a week away though
  15. l2wis's avatar
My order has been cancelled after it being rescheduled a few times. I don't understand the nonsense of saying its delayed and then eventually saying its damaged, if it was really damaged then surely they knew that the first time it was delayed.... I smell a rat.

I've never had Leffe, but I'm a huge fan of Erdinger... is it similar?

Nope. Totally different. Both great tasting beers are the abbey beers and wheat beers

Leffe is Belgian style so full of flavour. Erdinger is German style so bland and tasteless. Polar opposites I'd say.

I always used to think this too. But hardly anyone else does. I wonder if it’s a genetic thing, like some peoples hatred of celery.

I remember having a pint of 10% in Brussels, then a shot of 68% absinthe. That was all I needed for the entire night.

yeah it is. i picked it up in France i'm afraid. Although a local bottle shop sells the much smaller 33cl bottles of this imported from NL. haven't seen this one for sale in the UK.

Try Tripel Karmeliet as mentioned above. Waitrose do the smaller bottles and Tesco now sell the 750ml bottles. Strong and pale. Also try Delirium Tremens as well which is a similar type and tastier than Duvel (IMO).
