    A general reminder:

Even though it's mentioned on every P&O cruise thread, some still don't understand it.

P&O Ferries, who sacked their workers wrongly IS NOT the same as P&O cruises, who are owned by carnival. The only connection between the two is the name.

Hopefully everyone should know by now

Stop ruining it for the children, let them have some fun before bedtime

If you book P&O direct you have 24 hours to find a cheaper price i.e from seascanner and they will match the price, refunding the difference.
For some cruises booked direct they are trialing a bid upgrade system - don´t know if this cruise is included though.
Just thought i would mention as some prefer to book direct.

    Fantastic for this.

Ah, didn't know that. We have our third P&O cruise booked for October and have always booked via a 3rd party as it was cheaper. Would have booked direct if I had known that they would price match

    Hot hot hot 🔥🥵🥵

Ventura is a lovely smaller ship and she's just been refurbished too. We were on in October with our 7 and 8yo and we all had a blast! (edited)

With P&O I honestly wouldn't bother with their drinks packages. They don't offer good value for most people. They start around £40 pppd for basic alcohol packages. If you PAYG then beer is about a fiver, cocktails are generally £6.95 (some may cost more but most seem to be this price), spirit and mixer are about £6. Wines in the restaurant start at £18 a bottle and we found a couple of fairly decent wines for £22 a bottle.
I've never bothered with WiFi on a cruise - quite happy to not have it while at sea but then, I'm not addicted to social media. Always managed to use mobile data when in port to catch up with anything

Only a hardcore cruising enthusiast or a total sadist would cruise with two kids where all four people share a standard size interior cabin.

don't cross the bay of biscay in December if you are troubled by motion sickness...48hrs twice of horrendous swells. (edited)

Thanks for the warning. December was never going to work anyway. Too cold.

Just been on P&O IONA and had a wonderful time!!! This is a really good price.

You don't need the drinks package as you can bring on board 1L of alcohol and unlimited soft drinks. Most of the package deals through travel agents come with deals for on board credit, (in our case it was £180 for the room and we paid £100) which is usually more than enough to cover your drinks on board.

Entertainment is mostly pretty good. We had Gareth Gates and Tom Ball on board. Some good comedy shows too.

Much preferred the P&O experience to MSC and already looking to book another trip (third this year). Also found a cruising duck on the final day of the holiday! Superb fun all round!

Me and the wife were on this cruise and we loved it, along with our youngest son and wife's folks.

3rd time to Fjords and 4th on Iona.

Not MY favourite ship but certainly nothing wrong with it. I prefer slightly smaller, more personal liners like Ventura and Regal Princess (both my favourites for different reasons).

There was an onboard magician - Steve. He performed some unbelievable tricks right in front of our eyes and blew us all away. Fantastic touch P&O.

My only things are I find certain foods are undercooked (eggs, bacon) and people pushing into lifts in front of you. Some very imperiously behaved rude people too but such as life.

It's showing as £517 per person for an inside cabin for me?
    Jinkz's avatar
    Whats the question?
  12. ejadaddy's avatar
Does anyone know how these ships cope with general sway and motion?
    PS5's avatar
Pretty well, it hasn't sunk yet

What is the difference between inside cabins PB , PC , PD ?
    FunkyDomino's avatar
Location. Cabins with a higher grade are in locations typically seen as more desirable, usually related to how much movement is to be expected in that area of the ship.

Could you book for two adults and two children to get price and not bring children ?

So we don't choose when we eat? I'll be bringing a 2 year old .. will there be a cot? Wanna jump on that price but don't wanna regret it! (edited)
    FunkyDomino's avatar
There is no room for a cot in a standard inside cabin.

And no, you don't get to pick a dining sitting or option on the discount fares. That's a perk of paying the 'select' [more expensive] fare. (edited)
