    Northern Europe lol.

Scandinavia and the Baltic states are considered Northern Europe by pretty much every atlas in the world and some include the UK in that too.

This is an English Channel and North Sea cruise at best.

The actual cruise title is "Cities of North Europe". I didnt include the North Europe in the title, but the mods changed it to include it. Given they're an Italian cruise line, i guess we cant really fault them as it is North for them.

Having done this cruise on Virtuosa last year, i can say it was a fantastic cruise that got us the opportunity to experience the Christmas Markets in Hamburg and Bruges which were both stunning and we got to see the beautiful town of Hornfleur which is a short distance from Le Havre.

This ship was also beautifully laid out with Christmas decorations. (edited)

Does anyone know whether the full board will include soft drinks and water? We are thinking of going with kids and not planning to drink too much alcohol, so we are not sure whether it is worth upgrading to premium drinks package...

It'll include fruit juice, tea, coffee, water in the buffet and main dining rooms.

    Le Havre (Paris)

With only 12 hours in port, and a 3 hour drive each way to Paris, there's no realistic chance that anyone will be visiting Paris.
    So why even mention Paris?
Totally misleading, they may as well have said London, it's almost the same distance by crow!

    They do trips to Paris.

Is this the one they've got in Portland? Looks nice.

The Norweigern Dawn has been docked today at Portland, 2nd stop of a 10 day UK cruise

Looks a fair price. But not what i would call North Europe.

if you click on the link provided, theres an option to change the number of adults / passengers and recalculate from there.

Be wary of MSCs claim of free cruise change for Fantastica and above experiences (if done prior to 30 days before departure and for a cruise within 90 days of original departure). There are various admin fees that are squirrelled away in the terms and conditions despite the headline communication being a no fees change. A credit card wouldn't get away with it so nor should a cruiseline be allowed.

anyone know how much the wifi is?

Dont do it; expensive, poor and unreliable

I went on the MSC Virtuosa in March, similar cruise, Hamburg, Rotterdam, Le Havre, quite enjoyed and it was cheap incl drinks package but 1/2 full. A friend has just returned from MSC Virtuosa Med cruise 14 nights, ship was at capacity, nowhere to sit outside, no sunbeds loads of kids. She’d had enough after 3 days. Just a reminder that MSC is definitely the lower end of the market….

MSC is a volume cruise line. They keep their prices low by selling volume on to large ships.

Cruising during peak school holiday time is rarely a relaxing affair.

The dates of this particular cruise is during term time, so, assuming its like last year, the ship will be roughly half full - like your experience - which is a nice amount.

Also i dont think Virtuosa copes terribly well at capacity. We were on World Europa in June and it was at capacity (around 7,000 people apparently), no issues at all with the volume of people or getting seats or sunbeds. (edited)

Does anyone know any sites for cheap last minute cruises?
  13. imnicebuttdim's avatar
Does anyone think this will get cheaper closer to the departure date? Ideally want a solo cabin for about £500. I saw them last minute for May and they went as far down as £400 for a single cabin

this what I am after too. I want to do a med cruise and can book last minute but MSC seem to charge a 100% single supplement on even the last minute cruises (I checked last minute August ones) so I am wanting to know if they ever have 0-25% single supplement on their cruises or which other cruise lines have low to nil single supplement.
