Watch Big Clive on YouTube to see how bad some chargers are

so many unknown brands USB chargers. as more devices are now shipped without its own charger, these are going to be more popular and so the risk of fires will be higher. i can see the day when the UK will legislate these chargers.

Yes! our government will definitely regulate chargers but probably the week before the sun dies....

Most of the products we use are Made in China so if there is no fire yet then it will be fine to use these too

All too easy (and common) for a fake CE/BS Kitemark to be printed on these things.

Tempted strangely, the percentage that actually catch fire must be 0.00000000001%.

I do feel people fan the flames when it comes to Chinese chargers/power banks.

Yeah, the amount of people that actually have those issues is miniscule.
I've bought all number of cheapo chargers over the years (as well as plenty of good branded ones), some have been plugged in and used constantly for a very long time.

Never had one have any sort of burning issue. In fact only 1 has had any sort of failure, one of the ports stopped working.
I did manage to blow one up myself, but that was user error, lol.
Plugged the wrong USB-C cable into my laptop to charge it and the 20W charger it was connected to just went 'pop'.
Even then there was no smoke or burn marks, just killed the charger.
