How does this compare against the 990pro ?
    The.Fatter.Cat's avatar
Very similar, not quite as good when it comes to some synthetic benchmarks but in real world use no human would be able to notice a difference. (edited)

Superb drive with excellent performance and reliability with a great TBW/warranty to go with it.
The included data rescue will be useful for those that decide not to back-up their critical data.
Crazy TBW that 99.9% of people will not even come close to, makes it a great option for a 4/8K video editing rig though.

    Nice price for this one.

What I would say is that it's overkill for the PS5, you could spend £30-40 less and get a drive that performs pretty much the same. (edited)

    Which one ?

Very tempted... Was holding out for a sub-£200 sn850x but this deal might sway me to hit the 'buy button' now

    Thoughts?

If you buy from ebuyer on ebay with the 20% off you have 60 day returns until 29th December if it gets cheaper during black friday

    Nice post OP

I'm thinking of ordering the Lincstation N1 off of Indiegogo which has 4x NVMe slots.

So I'm looking at ordering 4 of the 4TB Crucial P3 NVMe drives which are currently £165-167 each

Careful with these. Qlc is slower than you might imagine, especially once you've filled the SLC cache. Expect write speeds in the 80MBs range.

    I paid this for a 20tb HDD

    Congratulations.

It is good but you can get 4TB from AliExpress for about £40 (including everything)
    Here's a picture of mine mounted in a case ( )

Great find OP, but I'm going to wait for the sn850x 4tb in BF sales.

270 from amazon EU, but still cheaper

But saying the beginning of January for delivery, could be half that by then
    encaser's avatar
You'd supposedly get the cheaper price if it dropped and you hadn't forgot and bought something else like some do.

good deal - black friday so close by its hard to press the trigger ......
  11. Ak.1's avatar
So can I use this on ps5 or do I have to buy the ps5 version? Any help would be appreciated
    SamS2710's avatar
I would also like to know if this would work on PS5
  12. JackBauer123's avatar
Great find OP. I think the 2tb version is better vfm. Needs a heatsink otherwise overheating will throttle performance. (edited)
  13. JAGGI-G's avatar
I paid more than double for this at launch
But this is an excellent drive, and for this price a proper bargain.
    Guaranteed you won't be disappointed
    JackBauer123's avatar
Is there a genuine overheating issue on this when not using a heat sink? Almost every review refers to this as being a real issue without the heatsink.

nice price for a proper NVME SSD with DRAM cache.

60 day return window on these so if cheaper on black friday, nothing lost

Price has dropped back down and delivery date has also dropped to 1 week (edited)

Is this the new amazon tactic, drop prices on things not in stock!
This hasn't been in stock for months as is via amazon UK.
    TeamMCS's avatar
Nah. They don't change the price once you've preordered. You don't really have anything to lose.

I've placed plenty of orders which were on either preorder or back order. No issues providing you're not in a hurry
  19. ksaleem's avatar
Just thinking... They take a payment when they dispatch right? And by that time of cheaper you would be able to buy it cheaper anyway.
    zarg's avatar
I believe this is the case, but you also have 14 days after the receipt of the product to return it for a full refund. So by that time, if it's dropped in price you'll still be in the clear.
  20. james.pondBzo's avatar
    Terrible price.
    james.pondBzo's avatar
The trend is nvmes are dropping. This isn't a deal in my op

    Absolutely gutted - just picked up a 2tb 530 for £130 2 weeks ago.
    kappaz187's avatar
Same - paid similar for Samsung 990 Pro last week 😫

Can I just say FINALLY! the larger than 1tb market prices were and still are kinda nuts, on pricing, it god to see that finally there moving in the right direction.
  25. Stowgood's avatar
Why are there so few 8TB NVMe SSD's?
  26. fishmaster's avatar
Wake up, put on insanity boots, preorder a vastly overpriced SSD. Seems logical I don't know why more people don't do it.
    The_Deal_Of_Fortune's avatar
    How is this overpriced?

  30. encaser's avatar
Actually not in stock for well over a month but available to order like before, if you're prepaired to wait/gamble on it appearing and no doubt have a hold put on your bank account for the money. (edited)

Got 4 4TB Crucial dramless drives, in my head I know once the data is on there and just reading then they are fine but the compulsive side of me wants to waste my money just for the dram hahaha
    mjh17474's avatar
The compulsive side is why we're sat here looking on HUKD!
