I have those (SR850) hooked up to my headphone amp. Once upon a time the Amazon price dipped down to £12.50 and I hopped on.

Amazon, annoyingly, shipped the headphones out with just an address sticker slapped onto their box (hate it when they do that).

Edit: I keep remembering it as £12.50 - it was £17.50. Still a brilliant price, though. (edited)

I think you'd struggle to get a better pair of closed back headphones for this kind of money.
They get cracking reviews and often compared with headphones twice the price.

    Fatiguing sound profile.

Just going to warn people, these have a very strange sound profile, muddy bass and sharp treble.

To each their own, and you might like it, and the price is very good for a real brand like AKG (owned by samsung). But these are not the same as AKG's higher-end offerings (K361 or K702).

If you're in the £30 price range.. which is a tricky price bracket to find good stuff.. I can suggest Samson 850's (they're semi open, so let in some sound in, and are probably not for bass heads) or the Superlux 662 (again not tonnes of bass but are closed - meaning they block more noise). Both of these will trade better sound for worse quality control, hard to win at this price. (edited)

Hmm... got to resist buying more headphones (wired or wireless) that I don't possibly need...

in my experience "like new" means anything between "like new" and "set fire to, and then repeatedly run over with a truck". Fortunately the returns process is easy.

I've bought all sorts of headphones from Amazon Warehouse. I've had really gross in-ear headphones delivered (though I've had some that were brand new). No problems with over ear headphones.

    YMMV.

It's surely only a matter of time till these try-hard style icons show up in a Chris Nolan film, which is why I'll give them a wide berth.

I have a pair bought many years ago. Great sounding profile - neutral. These are high impedance headphones, so to get the best out of them, make sure they are connected to a unit that can actually drive them properly.
