When they ask you to work from home, that is what the company should supply to staff.

What a ludicrous amount of money for a device that stores electricity worth around 60p.

Think this is just for the power station, the option with the solar panels takes the price to £2,199

Wouldn't a petrol generator be a bit cheaper?

I'm looking for something like this to power an oil heating boiler and pump during power cuts . Is this the sort of thing I should be looking at or is petrol generator preferable. any advice or where to look much appreciated. Thanks

I thought about doing that many years ago, but it got complicated real fast.
Pumps (water pump to circulate hot water, oil pump for the boiler) usually suck a bigger startup current than the current they run at. This means your power supply needs to be able to handle this peak demand.

Then you have figure out how to wire in the heating system including the control/timer box.

I ended up buying a mini gas heater instead, and keep a small gas cylinder in the shed.

God Lord. I would rather choose to buy 5 UPS 1200W for 200£ each so i can use it for powering separately fridge, gas boiler, PC, TV and still have one for spare when power cut last longer then few hour.
