Would this be better than HUB 4 from Virgin?

Looking for a decent upgrade to improve wifi

TBH if you want good wifi I'd go with a mesh instead - multiple units working together to form a blanket of wifi around the home. I'm in a house built like a faraday cage and only a mesh could give me good coverage. Wasted tons on expensive routers with wifi and extenders finding that out..

Thesedays my router doesn't even have WiFi (edited)

Wonder what the difference is between this and the v1. I have the v1 and it's been great since I had it apart from the wifi 6 not playing well with Samsung devices like the s23 ultra and flip 4. Constant disconnects and other users on Samsung forums with the same issue all seem to have Asus routers.

You may need to boost your 5G signal. Log in to your router, click on Wirless, then Gernal tab, then under 5G Channel bandwidth choose from the drop down box 20/40/60/80/160Mhz, and tick Enable 160MHZ. Then, click on Apply.

I have this, it's a fantastic router. Loads of settings in the app too. Using it with Virgin 1GB connection. Getting around 750 down 105 up on WiFi and over 1Gb down on wired. (edited)

What's the difference between this and V1?

I'm just looking at getting this router and came across some info via the SNB Forums, apparently the v2 routers have a 1.7GHz quad core CPU, the v1 has a 1.5GHz Tri-core, some have a 2.5Gb WAN port and possibly USB 3.2 vs 3.1.

I can't personally confirm this yet until I buy a router. I'll report back if I do

How's this compared to the BT Smart Hub 2? I use the PC/TV wired and tablet/phone wireless.

Far better I'm with BT, we sacked the sh2 completely... Got a separate modem (not a router) plugged in to the wall and into the Asus router, we are on FTTC no full fibre here yet...
