Buyer Beware! the Processor is actually an Snapdragon 888 . Not 888+ . The zenfone 8 series do not have 888+ Snapdragons

Boring looking phone, why did they remove the flip camera? Not only was it useful but it actually made the phone different from every other metal slab.

They didn't, the flip is available but is a bigger phone

Information below is provided as a guide, not guaranteed to be correct and not intended to disrespect this deal >

How long is Zenfone 8 supported?

The company still promises only a minimum of two years of Android updates for the ZenFone series. At a price of $800 at launch, 2 Android OS updates and 2 years of security updates is simply not enough and pretty much laughable coming from Asus.

Which Phone Support Calculator doesn't have any data on Asus phones which means Asus probably doesn't share the exact data which may be of concern for future security update support.

For the limited updates alone I would simply look for another phone. Laughable really. They should be trying harder to gain a better foothold in the crowded smartphone market

    Nice 16gb ram

You need 16GB on your phone? Truly have you ever used it all?

Looks good specs. The review I read said it's not wireless charging so if that's true, it's strange you get a wireless charger.

I think the wireless charger thing is just scan trying to make the offer stand out tbh

I'm looking to upgrade wife's p20 pro. Criteria is similar size/weight (she find my s21 Ultra too big), good camera, good battery life and under £400. Whats better than this for that criteria?

    Nothing

I bought this phone from SCAN a couple of months ago, but was unable to post the deal then due to them being "banned". For me, the size, specification and price are perfect

Before buying it, I was a little bit worried about the ramdump issue some of these models are known for, but I suppose any phone could potentially fail at any time (just like the Lenovo Legion Duel phone I bought which refused to work straight out of the box, and Lenovo did nothing to help ) (edited)

Wow, an amazing price for this! What a brilliant spot!

Never had an Asus phone - I have mostly stuck with chinese brands such as Xiaomi or Oppo. Looks like great specs, only let down with a 4000mah battery life.

    - Thanks for your great deals. I know you also posted the Poco x5 deal too, but what's it like compared to this Asus? Can you recommend a mid-range phone with good specs and great battery life?

Depends on your budget and what's most important mate

Wow, I was hoping for an s23 or zen phone 10 but didn't realise the specs were so good on this :0
  12. BobsterLobster's avatar
So tempting, but I wonder how long it will take for the ZenFone 9 to fall to this price now the ZenFone 10 is out...
    BondF's avatar
1 year maybe. This one will get only security updates for 2 year and no android update maybe this is why this price.
  13. c0nsumer's avatar
Had one of these before my Xperia 1iV. Nice size, but had alot of issues with dodgy software updates (one which would cause the phone to lock up) and poor battery life with 120hz.

5.92" is "compact" nowdays ...I hope Duoqin will release something with better camera, cause I am already tempted by Qin 3 Ultra

Thanks, I just bit the bullet on this one- I really wanted one of these and paid £310 for the 8GB version back in January but the crooks at Laptop Outlet refused to give me my money back (or send another one) when DHL lost the parcel until Paypal forced the refund, by which time there were no more phones left. So I'm refusing any further dealing with Laptop Outlet or the Asus outlet which are run by the same company. So I'm very happy that it's a 3rd party company here. (edited)

This or the Poco X5 Pro please?
    Professor_Chaos's avatar
Isn’t the Poco X5 pro a Chinese only release ?
  17. dragon489's avatar
I had this phone and the battery life on it was terrible plus finger print sensor also does not work with a screen protector applied. I have the Zenfone 10 and battery life is tremendous and it's an all round better phone even if it costs more (edited)

£360 more, so yes, I'm not surprised it's better
  18. Professor_Chaos's avatar
Not that I want it, but isn’t this the phone that YouTuber Marques Brownlee has been singing the praises of?
    cman84's avatar
That's the Zenfone 10, which came out last month (July 2023). Yes - impressive reviews.

This deal is for the Zenfone 8, which came out in May 2021.
