How do the button work without power?

Same way a tap does; water comes in, the pressure selector works like turning a tap to make it faster and the two buttons just release a valve to the lines going to the bum/foof jets. No electrics needed.

I havnt fitted one of these but I am very tempted. I have a spray gun, hose and full bore diverter.

Those with plumbing experience always highlight the potentil for backflow. As I understand it I would have to drop my spray down the loo and in the case of the bidet the water in the bowl would have to reach the inlets/outlets. Correct me if I am wrong but the risk appears to be minimal.

The maintence of personal hygiene far outweighs this in my opinion. Now should I invest. Anyone installed one ?. (edited)

Haven't installed this specific model but installed a different type from the same brand.

Fairly easy to do, it attaches to the toilet the same way you attach the seat and then the seat goes on top.

Then the flexible pipe goes from the bidet to the main water pipe with a splitter.

I had to replace one of my existing pipes with a flexible one because mine was old copper ones and wouldn't fit into the splitter.

I have a similar variant to this which I bought at the beginning of the year from the same manufacturer.
This is the one I have:
    amazon.co.uk/SAM…c=1

I am a DIY'er and it was an easy fit for myself, just remember to use some ptfe tape for a good seal.
Haven't had any leaks and it's defo replaced my lota
Couldn't be happier with it....This is the way!
Your behind will thank you later.

Best thing I ever bought (slightly different model tho).

The only problem is that now I want to go home every time I need a poo because anything less just won't do

Yep - we installed a Toto Washlet at home and nobody in the family will use toilets outside the house now for #2s! Feels absolutely barbaric to be scrambling around a cubicle with some tracing paper.

Not got much experience of the bidet method of cleaning due to typical English upbringing. Though based on cleaning skids off the porcelain it seems poo isn't that water soluble (presumably due to the fat content) and you need to get stuck in and give it a good wipe. Same with getting dog mess off boots - if only a quick squirt of water is all it took. Aren't you just going to end up with a wet dirty bum instead of a dry dirty bum using this? Or do you still use paper and just polish off with this? Genuinely don't know.

Can I just compliment you on how articulate your comment was for such a delicate subject!

Spray the shower head between your cheeks and use Dettol soap (X 2) done nothing worse than smelling down south when it's jiggy jiggy time
    HungryCaterpillar's avatar
Haven't got any of the soap, can I use Dettol Kitchen spray?

I have no idea how European people only use toilet paper, washing with water is esstential part of hygiene for me.

Someone said it broke very easily due to cheap material. Is it that flimsy?
    xtrem3x's avatar
Nah, that's just self preservation by somebody who works for a toilet paper company

Hehe... Good luck, and enjoy the start of your clean bum journey!

Strange the last time I made a jovial comment about this product the mods were on my tail immediately and deleted it. Your right tho, every household should have one of these or similar installed. Cant believe we are so far behind on this one lol.
