I have the ring 2 wired however it needs a subscription for the recordings, it works perfectly fine with the echos in the house. I also have a blink camera and it records on the sync module and USB. I’m seriously considering the blink door bell as the quality is supposedly the same as Ring however, the ring finish looks far superior

Thinking of getting one of these to replace the Eufy video doorbell. Not because of the security issues, as that really doesn't worry me, but more that I'd like to hardwire a video doorbell to the mains powered bell/chime unit I already have, and my current Eufy is only battery powered/rechargeable.

Sorry if this has been asked on other threads offers for these, but does anyone know if these are a fairly easy hardwire install, and will that keep it charged up? My mains powered doorbell is a Deta C3501, and is powered by the mains on 240v supply. I believe with ring you need to change the transformer unit int he chime to dial down the voltage of the bell push/video? I think this is also the same for the wired Eufy too.

Just want a relatively simple hardwire to existing mains doorbell chime if possible.

    Cheers (edited)

    From the spec:
    • 16 Volts alternating current (VAC) and 10 Volt-Amps (VA) is the smallest recommended transformer to power the Blink Video Doorbell.
    • The Blink Video Doorbell can be wired to a 16vAC - 24vAC transformer, with a maximum safe power rating of 40VA.

So a minimum of 16 Volts AC - a lot of older UK bell transformers wont go up to 16V - have a close look at your bell transformer as it should say the various voltages it supports.

The 10 Volt Amps means that at 16 volts the transformer needs to be capable of outputting 0.625 Amps as a minimum and a maximum of 40VA = 2.5Amps.

All that said this bell transformer at Screwfix has reviews stating that it works with Blink doorbells: screwfix.com/p/b…07p
