Looking for a solid but reasonably affordable bookshelf / monitoring speakers. Are these a great option for the price?

These particular bookshelf speakers aren’t to some peoples taste - Check out Andrew Robinsons review on yt. Obviously everyones perception is different and if you can go and hear different speakers somewhere definitely try that.

Their newer range (I think S3) seems to be a big improvement, although I wouldn’t class as reasonably affordable.

Q acoustics imo are usually great all rounders for value/quality.

Watch some reviews of them online and then check out past deals on here to work out the best retailers to watch for price drops. Peter tyson ebay shop currently have some on their ebay shop with code but not sure what models. (edited)

I have a B&W Zeppelin wireless, British designed and built, I don’t know these speakers however I’d invest them over better known commercial brands all day long. Excellent (well deserved) reputation and very solid well built speakers.

I got the best deal ever today... Fyne Audio F303 floorstanders for £199 reduced from £700 in Richersounds in Belfast, only collection or delivery in Ireland though.51046657-cGq9H.jpgListening now with my Arcam seperates, great dynamics and big drums, I haven't owned floorstanders for over 10 years, not for small rooms though!

    Nice one. Enjoy!

Regarding Arcam separates; can you tell me if the CDS50 does gapless playback via streaming? I remember you mentioning in another post that you use the Bubble app rather than Arcam's MusicLife app. Thanks in advance for any help and advice.

Thanks for the post, I bought the 607 S2 and was wondering , does anybody have any recommendations for stands for these? I'm on a budget so anything below 100 pounds would be good. Thanks

Fisual speaker stands have worked well for me.

Can some kind generous soul share their wisdom and tell me a budget source for the 607 S2s, complete and ready to go? I have no idea about speakers!

There's a lot to consider depending on your requirements, but I know this streamer/amp would be at the top of my list to try just now:

    nintronics.co.uk/pro…uno

Don't know if you could do better for £300 if streaming is what you're looking for... but not suitable if you want to add vinyl / CD player etc.

    Very good deals.
Peter tyson are an excellent store. I buy every year from them. I had something a few weeks ago. Their service is of the highest quality
The 603 are a remarkable deal
But I always buy directly from them. I won't use ebay
I've looked on their website and the speakers are "nearly new"
Never buy speakers unless they are new.
So I will change my original comment to day that if they are a used product then avoid them. (edited)

It's sold by them on eBay. You're buying from Peter Tyson through a marketplace, not from eBay themselves.

Still on a pair of original 601's (a friend sold them to me very cheap as a favour, I didn't realise how big a favour at the time.) Lovely speakers!

I've a pair of vintage 604 S3s, they're so good. These are great speakers for the price and if I were in the market for a new pair I would buy buy buy (edited)

Would these be good for a turntable?
    RobMotoring's avatar
Yes if you have a powered amp?
