Seems a great price. Might pay for leccy and gas alone. Works out at £2.94 per person, per night.

Not for everyone, I know. But if you're free and live local, no brainer imo.

Not sure of any Blue Light discounts, but it is on the BLC page, might be £20 off similar to haven, but not sure,

Light and bright with pastel-coloured walls, our Silver Rooms are brilliant for budget-conscious families who just want a place to sleep and shower at the end of a busy day.

Included in your room:
  • One, two and three bedrooms with double bed and twins or a single bed
  • Bathroom with shower
  • All rooms come with a TV and free Essential WiFi. Towels and daily housekeeping are not included
  • Rooms are located on the ground and first floors

I was was at Skegness last week. Single, 61 year old disabled female. I paid £93 with breakfast and evening meal, the food and entertainment were fantastic, accommodation clean and warm and the staff were very very helpful.
One word of warning if you have to rely on public transport, the local buses are being cancelled at short notice. I left a day early and had to.pay for another single train journey, this was because I have to have train and disabled transport home and was afraid that if I couldn't get a bus to the train station on the Friday I would of been stranded.

Would they be OK with two women, no kids? Quite tempted to book just to use the room like a hotel. Going out during the day to go hiking and exploring the region.

Just add a 'phantom' kid on there and say they're playing about, when checking in.

Why we have to even consider this is stupid. We all know why - because all of the expensive add-ons are for the kids and so 'no kids, no more money for Butlins'.

absolute bargain deal this, especially if you have children of age before they start school

I'm going the week before, same location, same silver room and its just over £400 - but thats because its half term, plus we have paid for the food pacakge - buffet breakfast and tea.

I go to butlins every year and the price I've paid is still a really good deal for half term week (myself and 2 children) (edited)

We have just come back from Skeggy after taking advantage of this deal and it's an unbelievable bargain. We upgraded to a room with a kitchen for another £8 making it £54 for the week. Clean decent accomodation with housekeeping every day and as it's a midweek holiday it's very quiet sleeping in the evenings.

On these showtime weeks they have free entertainment on all week for the little ones, we saw Peppa Pig, Sooty, Basil Brush, PJ masks and some animals vs dinosaur show all during the day. In the evenings it was tribute acts like Take That, Lady Gaga, Abba and some other acts doing magic. The pool is open all week and until 9pm on the Thursday which had 5+ areas and some decent slides. All included for £54, it's a no brainer. Take advantage before your kids go to school!

Bit of a dump but considering the price of swimming these days, it's well worth it for the very good pool they have here.

    How is it a dump?

Minimum 1 child/toddler on the break, Butlins do not allow all adult booking on family midweek breaks.

I booked a break for last year for myself and they weren't too pleased, they tried to cancel just under a week before arrival having been booked a year in advance. No mention at the time of booking (there is now).

When asked why, their explanation was that they dont allow "single male guests" unless they were a premier club member, they said if was a women it would be ok, which is absolutely wrong to me, when I mentioned to them that it was discriminatory they changed their tune to simply say they dont allow any all adult bookings regardless of gender. But then gave me the option to add my mum to the booking and all of a sudden it was fine because she is a premier club member. Very bizarre.

Since then they've updated their T&Cs to state no all adult bookings and give a warning when trying to book a break if no child/toddler is on the booking.

It's a shame really as I travel solo a lot, I usually book the cheaper Haven breaks which is/was their sister company and I've had no issue with them. I tend to use them as base, just to stay and then travel around to surrounding towns. (edited)

Don't think Haven are supposed to solo travellers either, according to their T&C's. However have heard them to be more lenient than Butlin's.

Can't you just put a child on the booking and take a doll with you? Say it's sleepy, job done.
    Dissatisfied_dad's avatar
    My thoughts exactly
  10. winchman's avatar
I'm not sure they've really thought this "must include a child" policy..
Single man, turns up with a child ..🤷... You get news stories about that.. but a single man is a no no ..
    jewelie's avatar
Why? There's enough single Dad's out there? That's the trouble with news stories, they breed fear far beyond the real risks, don't they? ☹️

Butlins in the 90’s , the only place ever and I mean ever where a drunk but totally confused hot nympho broke the door down into our apartment during the night ,staggered into our bedroom and actually got into bed with me and the missus. Unfortunately I was made to show her the door.

I remember one year the life guards were shouting for everyone to get out the top pool, i seen them with the big nets trying to fish something out of the pool, turns out someone in the pool , we got a free family day pass from the ordeal (edited)

Given a holiday booking is cheaper than day passes - can you use facilities during the day / entertainment at night then actually stay elsewhere?
    shakerstevens's avatar
Absolutely, its not as though they monitor you once you leave the evening entertainment to see if you have gone back to your room or not.

This is a huge bargain, unfortunately as always it is in school time, generally outside school time with food can go upto about £800 for the week, as we have been several times over the last few years. But didn’t book again this year as for the same break this year (Halloween) they wanted over 1k and just couldn’t afford that sort of price for Butlins. Which was a huge shame.

Not as good entertainment wise, but I've found Haven to be much cheaper compared to butlins in term time (both still more than this though ) (edited)
