    I have a set of carbon bars that I bought nearly 3 years ago and I still haven't got round to fitting them to the bike.

    I'm no mountain bike expert but I think you will notice more of a difference from the upgrade if you fit them than if you dont.

    I just wish they shipped aerosols as some great deals on the fenwicks range (silicon Spray for suspension and foaming chain cleaner and chain sponge ) is nearly half price to elsewhere

    I’m gonna try and get a ride over to rivington pike and do a pickup collection in the coming weeks (edited)

    I find the main improvement is carbon cuts down trail chatter, fewer vibrations comfier ride

    Ordered this and a Race Face Atlas stem from Chain Reaction - £76 total for a 350g cockpit upgrade to replace the stock bars and stem on my Marin.

    Nice one. £14 cheaper than the budget Nukeproof bar I've been thinking of getting. The question is, do I want a 35mm stem interface. I guess with a nice carbon bar it will be stiffer yet more compliant still than an alloy bar.

    It seems most of the carbon bars in the sales of late are only 31.8s, and even then generally over £50, the only real downside here is I'll be tempted to replace the stock stem "while I'm there" which might get me in trouble (edited)

    Great price but I can’t stand Merlin Cycles. Their packing and customer service is awful. Good prices though.

    I’ve never had a problem with Merlin , I tend to get delivery’s next day on regular orders placed,, guess my location is good for Royal Mail
    They ship in cardboard boxes so never had an issue, what had you ordered.
    I agree customer service hasn’t always been great , but I tend to buy consumables off them so not really needed (edited)

    decided to switch bars and stem on my winter hardtail, ordered a few days ago,
    just arrived RM48hr in a full length card box and bubble wrap,

    very lightweight glad it says enduro and gravity focus on the sales pitch,

    Finally got round to fitting this, there's probably a bit of a placebo element at play too, but chatter through the hands and arms definitely seemed less noticeable (edited)
