I have one.
Great for camping with a hook up.

And without power, I pre-cool and use three frozen/ice takeaway cartons which fit perfectly in the bottom and that will last 3- 4 days.

The Outwell ECOcool Lite is a lightweight box with plenty of room for picnic essentials, with versatile hot and cold functions and an internal divider that helps you to organise your food.

It can be used in cars and with standard plug sockets, with either 12V or 230V, and will keep the contents cool down to 18°C below the ambient temperature.

  • Cooling and heating function: cools 18°C below outside temperature , warms 50°C
  • Suitable for 1.75L bottles
  • Can be used with either 12V or 230V

Heat added, thanks OP. Regrettably I've already bought a 2nd hand igloo, again electric.

Would you mind saying how you find it most effective to pre-cool pls? (switch on at home 12hrs in advance or not that much? Do you replenish the ice packs during the w/e if the site has a communal freezer? How do you avoid freezing items/monitoring that it's not got too hot for meats etc? Sorry to ask

Yes I turn on the night before to cool on the mains.
Then it is on the car 12v as we travel. and that is the last power/cooling for the 4 days (at Le Mans 24h and no power/communal freezers).
When do camp in the UK and use 4 freezer blocks, 2 in rotation that get frozen in the campsite freezer but we tend to have electric hook up then too.
I also make sure that it is full, and everything that goes in is very well chilled.
You are better off filling it up rather than partially empty/air as there is then a much larger thermal mass/slower warming up.
Beer/drinks get chucked in the freezer for an hour or two before loading up to get even colder.
I haven't experienced freezing anything as it tends to get mostly loaded with cold beer at the bottom and as we buy things that need cooling over the few days beer is taken out (or drunk!).
My yardstick for staying cold 3-4 days is that we loaded up from home inc 2 pints of fresh milk that was still fresh/chilled by day 4.
However I do think the 3 frozen takeaway cartons made the biggest contribution.(filled 3, lids on and in the freezer a few days before, then put into a ziplock bag to catch most of the water as they melted.)
They were placed up-down-up to "tessellate" and fit perfectly in the bottom (edited)
