I use this sort of thing for cleaning the glass on the front of my oven. It's by far the best way to remove the brown residue of cooking. So long as you don't attack it like an idiot and use lots of water liquid cleaner you'll have no problems with scratching whatsoever. You're more likely to mark it if you use an abrasive sponge than using this.

Am sure I saw a woman using something similar to this on Youtube the other day, on the glass on her oven door.
Did a good job, as did a dishwasher tablet!

Is that not just an excess paint scraper? Best thing to clean anything like that is ashes from a fire made to a paste with brown vinegar. Rub on with kitchen roll, wash off and hey presto. Use this on my oven door, log burner door and hob.
